Spring Zouk is the name of an infamous festival in which was held February 3–5, 2012 at Udupi beach on at St Mary's Islands in India. The festival was a project coordinated by the state government and various sponsors to attract international tourism. Description The event was a 3-day music festival where 30 international bands performed. Sponsors The event was sponsored by Kingfisher, VH1, and the government of Karnataka. Performers Juno Reactor, Prem Joshua, Gipsy Shalon and others were among the performers at the event. Reviews Attendees at the event reported that it was successful and fun. Udupi
Udupi (alternate spelling Udipi; also known as Odipu) is a city in the Indian state of Karnataka. Udupi is situated about north of the educational, commercial and industrial hub of Mangalore and about west of state capital Bangalore by road. Juno Reactor is a multi-national musical and performing group, primarily based in Brighton, UK. Prem Joshua ( hi, प्रेम जोशुआ) is a German-Indian musician, active since 1991. Born in Germany in 1958, Joshua learned the flute at the age of five and played the flute and the saxophone for various local bands. At the age of 18, he traveled overland to India studying the indigenous folk music of countries along the way. Joshua was the name his parents gave him, he later added Prem to it, dropping the family name, to remind him of the essence of love (Prem means love in Hindi).
