Sports in Nepal comprise both Traditional games of Nepal, traditional Nepalese and modern international games. Even though there is no exact data, association football, football, cricket and volleyball are the most popular sports in Nepal. On 23 May 2017, volleyball was also declared as a national sport of Nepal. Before 2017, traditional games like dandi biyo and kabbadi were considered as the ''de facto'' national games. Everest Women's Volleyball League
Everest Women's Volleyball League (EWVL) is a professional women's indoor volleyball Franchise league in Nepal. The inaugural season took place in September 2024. EWVL is the first ever women's volleyball franchise league held in South Asian Region. Background The Nepal Volleyball Association (NVA) in association with the Infinity Dreams Pvt. Ltd. launched and will be conducted the inaugural season of a franchise-based indoor volleyball league called Everest Women's Volleyball League. Nepal Women's National Cricket Team
The Nepal women's national cricket team () represents Nepal in international women's cricket. They made their international debut in the ACC Women's Tournament in Malaysia in July 2007. Nepal has been participating in various international tournaments since then. Manoj Katwal serves as the head coach of the team whereas Indu Barma captains the team in all formats. Puja Mahato serves as the vice-captain of the team. In April 2018, the International Cricket Council (ICC) granted full Women's Twenty20 International (WT20I) status to all its members. Therefore, all Twenty20 matches played between Nepal women and another international side after 1 July 2018 will be a full WT20I.
