Splendora
Splendora was an American all-female alternative rock band from New York City. Formed in 1993 by Janet Wygal (lead vocals, guitar), Tricia Wygal (lead vocals, bass), Delissa Santos (drums), Cindy Brolsma (cello), and Jennifer Richardson (violin), the band released one studio album, ''In the Grass'' (1995), before disbanding in 2002. The band is best known for performing "You're Standing on My Neck", which was featured as the opening theme to the MTV animated series ''Daria''. ''Daria'' is an American adult animation, adult animated sitcom television series created by Glenn Eichler and Susie Lewis, Susie Lewis Lynn. The series ran from March 3, 1997, to January 21, 2002, on MTV. It centers on the titular character, Daria Morgendorffer, an intelligent, Cynicism (contemporary), cynical high school student, voiced by Tracy Grandstaff, who had voiced the character in Mike Judge's earlier animated series, ''Beavis and Butt-Head''. Is It College Yet?
''Is It College Yet?'' is a 2002 American animated comedy-drama television film written by Glenn Eichler and Peggy Nicoll, and directed by Karen Disher. The film was the second film-length installment of MTV's animated series ''Daria'', after 2000's '' Is it Fall Yet?,'' and served as the series finale, chronicling the end of high school as the characters prepare for college. ''Is It College Yet?'' was produced in lieu of an abbreviated, six-episode sixth season requested by MTV. Series co-creator Glenn Eichler planned to wrap the show with the fifth-season finale " Boxing Daria", believing that there was no more story to tell. The film was first broadcast by MTV on January 21, 2002, released on both VHS and DVD formats on August 27, 2002, and was included on the DVD release of ''Daria: The Complete Animated Series'' on May 11, 2010. Maxwell's
Maxwell's, last known as Maxwell's Tavern, was a bar/restaurant and music club in Hoboken, New Jersey. Over several decades the venue attracted a wide variety of acts looking for a change from the New York City concert spaces across the river. Maxwell's initially closed its doors on July 31, 2013, and reopened as Maxwell's Tavern in 2014, under new ownership. It closed again in February 2018. History The club was opened in August 1978 by Steve Fallon. The Individuals (New Jersey Band)
The Individuals were an American, Hoboken, New Jersey–based power pop band, led by Glenn Morrow (guitar, vocals, sax, keyboards) and featuring Janet Wygal (bass, vocals, guitar, keyboards), Janet's brother Doug Wygal (drums, percussion), and Jon Light Klages (lead guitar, keyboards, vocals). They were an outgrowth of several jam sessions that also included, at various times, Bernie Kugel (The Good, Mystic Eyes), and Dee Pop (The Gun Club, Bush Tetras). Daria's Inferno
''Daria's Inferno'' is a 2000 PC video game developed by Hypnotix and published by Simon & Schuster Interactive. The game is based on the MTV animated show ''Daria''. Players control the character Daria Morgendorffer through the fictional town of Lawndale. Characters in the game are voiced by the same voice actors as on the TV show. The game is the only media ever to feature the TV series' entire theme song, "You're Standing on My Neck" by Splendora, only one verse of which is ever heard on the show. Gameplay The game uses third-person perspective and consists of five levels. Each level contains mazes to navigate as well as inventory-based puzzles. Carey Burtt is a filmmaker and musician based in New York City, mainly working in the underground genre. Films Burtt's films ''The Psychotic Odyssey of Richard Chase'' and ''The Death of Sex'' appeared in the second edition of Jack Sargeant's book ''Deathtripping: The Cinema of Transgression''. ''The Psychotic Odyssey of Richard Chase'' was also distributed by the production company Troma Entertainment in its "Best of Tromadance Vol. 1" DVD. Susie Lewis
Susie Lewis is an American writer and producer. She is best known for co-creating and producing the first three seasons of the satirical MTV adult animated series ''Daria,'' which originally aired from March 1997 to January 2002. Education Lewis attended Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and graduated from New York Institute of Technology in New York City. Career Lewis's career began after she applied for an internship at MTV and then began working on ''Beavis and Butt-Head'' producing the music video segments.
