Splashgirl
Splashgirl (initiated 2003 in Oslo, Norway) is a Norwegian jazz ensemble comprising the three young musicians Andreas Stensland Løwe (piano and electronics), Jo Berger Myhre (doublebass and tone generator) and Andreas Lønmo Knudsrød (drums, percussion and sounds), playing original music. Biography Since 2007, Splashgirl has released four highly acclaimed albums ''Doors. Keys.'' (2007), ''Arbor'' (2009), ''Pressure'' (2011) and '' Field Day Rituals'' (2013), has played a great number of concerts in Europe, USA and Japan, and collaborated with musicians like Sidsel Endresen, Jan Bang, Eyvind Kang, Mari Kvien Brunvoll, Randall Dunn and Timothy Mason. Andreas Stensland Løwe
Andreas Stensland Løwe (born 14 October 1983 in Larvik, Norway) is a Norwegian jazz pianist from Hedrum, living in Oslo, with a taste for electronic sound processing. He is known from bands like Splashgirl, Silent Velcro and The Captain & Me, and collaborations with artists like Hanne Kolstø, Frida Ånnevik and Susanna Wallumrød. Biography As a major composer and pianist in Splashgirl Løwe has played a series of concerts in places from Japan in the east to Seattle in the west, and he has released several albums. He also has appeared as a composer of a number of commissioned works, including for the Tape to Zero Festival in Oslo, and composed music for stage and movies. Jo Berger Myhre
Jo Berger Myhre (born 29 May 1984 in Sandefjord, Norway) is a Norwegian upright bassist, known from performing with the likes of Splashgirl, Blokk 5, Ingrid Olava, Solveig Slettahjell Slow Motion Quintet and Finland: Grydeland/ Qvenild/ Hausken/Myhre. As a member of the Nils Petter Molvær Quartet (since 2013) he is performing as a bass guitarist and has contributed to two albums, ''Switch'' (2014) and ''Buoyancy'' (2016), to the last even as a co-producer. Career Living in Oslo, Myhre holds a Bachelor degree in performing improvisational music from the Norwegian Academy of Music. In addition he attended one year studies under Anders Jormin at the Music Academy in Gothenburg, Sweden. Randall Dunn is an American record producer, audio engineer, and musician. As a record producer, he has worked with musical acts such as Sunn O))), Six Organs of Admittance, Marissa Nadler, Wolves in the Throne Room, Boris, Anna Von Hausswolff, Akron/Family, Oren Ambarchi, Eyvind Kang, The Cave Singers, Earth, and Jesse Sykes, among others. Huntsville (Norwegian Band)
Huntsville (established 2006 in Oslo, Norway) is an experimental jazz trio. Biography Huntsville was formed by three Norwegian veterans of creative jazz music, the guitarist Ivar Grydeland, bassist Tonny Klutten and percussionist Ingar Zach. They perform their instruments in unorthodox manners and then manipulated their sounds to obtain the post-modern reinvention of folk, jazz, raga and drone music for their debut album ''For The Middle Class'' ( 2006). Mari Kvien Brunvoll (born 20 February 1984 in Molde, Norway) is a Norwegian folk and jazz singer who has over the past few years attracted attention at festivals internationally with her solo concept, where the voice is complemented by small electronic and acoustic instruments in a sound inspired by jazz, pop and folk music.
