Splashdown Waterpark (Poole)
Splashdown is a water park located at the Tower Park complex near to Poole, Dorset, England. The park opened in 1990 and was one of the founding attractions at Tower Park. The park experiences approximately 180,000 visitors a year. It has 8 indoor water slides which operate all year round and 5 outside rides which operate only during the summer season. There is also a wet play area and small training pool for children. Slides Splashdown Poole has 13 slides, 8 indoor and 5 outdoor. These are: *Infinity, a short bowl slide from 2002, originally called Space Bowl. The slide consists of a short enclosed tube section, followed by a large enclosed bowl element where riders helix in the bowl before losing momentum and falling through a hole in the middle into a landing pool. Tower Park
Tower Park is a leisure and retail park, located at Mannings Heath, in Poole, Dorset, England. It was one of the first complexes of its kind in Europe when it opened in 1989. History The leisure park, which opened in 1989, was a development initiated by local Dorset businessman Bill Riddle, who operated a landfill site in the area. The site chosen for the park was at Mannings Heath, on 53 acres of heathland just outside Poole. Riddle funded the project by selling some land at Mannings Heath to Tesco and much of the park was leased to Allied Leisure PLC. Tower Park was initially very successful as the quality of its attractions and free parking proved popular. Splashdown Quaywest is the largest outdoor waterpark in the UK. It is located on Goodrington Sands Beach near to Paignton, Devon. The original site has 8 water slides, small splash pools for youngsters and a swimming pool. In addition to the water park, the site also hosts a beach shop and a restaurant called 'Boarders waterpark cafe' and several food outlets selling fast food, ice creams and drinks, and now boasts 18 waterpark slides. 11 in the main waterpark and a further 7 in Captain Lewey's Shipwreck Island area.
