Greatest Hits Radio West Sussex is an Independent Local Radio station owned and operated by Bauer Radio, Bauer as part of the Greatest Hits Radio Network. It broadcasts to West Sussex. History Spirit FM began broadcasting in April 1996 as an independent radio station. Its original chairman was David Palmer. The founding MD was Steve Oates. In June 2020, Bauer announced that the station "will be rebranded as "Greatest Hits Radio", offering classic hits from the '70s, '80s and '90s". Spirit FM was awarded the licence to broadcast to West Sussex by the former Radio Authority, now Ofcom, in 1995 and was a radio station that was part of the UKRD Group In 2020, after being acquired by Bauer from UKRD, it become part of the national Greatest Hits Radio brand, while later in the year many of the ex-presenters of Spirit FM were hired by a new local DAB station called V2 Radio. WPAR
WPAR (91.3 MHz) is a non-commercial FM radio station licensed to Salem, Virginia and serving the Roanoke - Lynchburg metropolitan area. It is the flagship of "Spirit FM," a group of Christian Adult Contemporary stations owned by Positive Alternative Radio, which is headquartered in Blacksburg. The stations are listener-supported and hold periodic fundraisers on the air. WPAR has studios and offices on Timberlake Road in Lynchburg. Positive Alternative Radio operates a network of full-power stations and FM translators, stretching from North Carolina and West Virginia through the Shenandoah Valley, to the fringes of the Richmond metropolitan area. Catholic Media Network, also known as CMN, is a Catholic radio network in the Philippines. CMN serves as the broadcasting arm of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines, the governing body of the Roman Catholic Church in the Philippines. History CMN was known as the Philippine Federation of Catholic Broadcasters (PFCB), a radio network founded through the efforts of Fr. James Reuter, SJ and Fr. George Dion, OMI in 1966. The radio network was owned and operated by different Catholic broadcast media corporations. In 1997, the name was changed to the Catholic Media Network to suit the network's mission and also the new slogan "The Spirit of The Philippines". Spirit FM (Narrandera)
Spirit FM is a community radio station broadcasting to the town of Narrandera, Australia, which first aired in 2005. Programs are broadcast from a studio in the Narrandera railway station, and relayed to an FM transmitter on top of the water reservoir at the corner of Gordon Street and Broad Street. History The idea for a local community radio station was first floated in 1985 by Jack Driscoll, former president of the Narrandera Shire Council. This was followed by multiple public meetings to gauge interest and establish Narrandera District Community Radio Inc, the organisation in charge of running the station. Spirit FM began broadcasting on a temporary license on 27 January 2005. The station continued renewing this temporary license with the ACMA annually until 2010, when they were first granted a five-year permanent license.
