Johann Sperl
Johann Sperl (3 November 1840 – 29 July 1914) was a German painter. Life Johann Sperl was born (as Johann Spörl) in Buch (now part of Nuremberg, Middle Franconia) in 1840 as an only child of Protestant parents. His father worked as an agricultural day laborer in the summer and as a wood worker in the winter. His mother worked as a housekeeper. The family lived in the next-door house of a homestead. School years In 1846 Sperl started attending school from which he graduated in 1854 as class winner. The local pastor assisted Sperl in securing an apprenticeship as a colorist. With the death of his father in 1856, Sperl became the sole provider of his sick mother and started an apprenticeship to become a lithographer. In the winter of 1858–59 Sperl fulfilled his wish of attending drawing courses at Nürnberger Kunstgewerbeschule. Café Sperl is a traditional Viennese café located at Gumpendorfer Straße 11 in the Mariahilf sixth district of Vienna, Austria. The café is on the Austrian Register of Historic Places. Timothy Farrell (June 26, 1922 – May 9, 1989) was an American film actor, best known for his roles in Ed Wood films such as '' Jail Bait'', '' The Violent Years'' and '' Glen or Glenda''. He also worked for the County Marshal of Los Angeles, California. Early life Born as Timothy Sperl, he was a native of Los Angeles and graduate of Alexander Hamilton High School. During World War II Farrell served in the Army Air Corps. Farrell worked as a Bailiff for the Los Angeles Marshal's Department while also working in low-budget exploitation movies. In 1948 he portrayed a doctor in the film ''Test Tube Babies'', explaining to a young couple that there is no shame in test-tube fertilization (a similar role to that in the subsequent '' Glen or Glenda''). Both films were produced by George Weiss, who used Farrell in a string of exploitation films in the 1950s.
