Whitehaven is a town and civil parish in the Cumberland (unitary authority), Cumberland district of Cumbria, England. It is a port on the north-west coast, and lies outside the Lake District National parks of England and Wales, National Park. It is south-west of Carlisle. In sport, a cap is a player's appearance in a game at international level. The term dates from the practice in the United Kingdom of awarding a cap to every player in an international match of rugby football and association football. In the early days of football, the concept of each team wearing a set of matching shirts had not been universally adopted, so each side would distinguish itself from the other by wearing a specific sort of cap. The Scotland national rugby league team represents the nation of Scotland in international rugby league. It is administered by Scotland Rugby League, the governing body of rugby league in Scotland, and competes as a member of the Rugby League European Federation (RLEF), which encompasses the countries of Europe.
