The Speedway Grand Prix of Denmark is a motorcycle speedway event that is a part of the Speedway Grand Prix series (the world championship). The event was first held at the Vojens Speedway Center from 1995 to 2002 before switching to the Parken Stadium in Copenhagen from 2003 to 2014, while Vojens hosted the Speedway Grand Prix of Nordic. After four years at the CASA Arena in Horsens between 2015 and 2018, the event returned to Vojens in 2019. Vojens Speedway Center
The Vojens Speedway Center is a Motorcycle speedway track located in Vojens, Denmark. The track has been part-owned since its opening by Denmark's first three time Speedway World Champion Ole Olsen. Track The Speedway Center is a long track which opened in September 1975 and has a spectator capacity of approximately 15,000. Since its opening it has hosted numerous Danish national and international meetings including hosting the Danish Championship in 1977, 1979 and 1981. World Championship meetings The Speedway Center hosted the Speedway World Final in 1988 and again in 1994, the final time the World Championship was held in the single meeting format before the advent of the Speedway Grand Prix series in 1995. Andreas Jonsson
Andreas Karl Rune Jonsson (born 3 September 1980 in Stockholm, Sweden) is a Swedish former international motorcycle speedway rider. He was a member of the Sweden speedway team that won the World Cup in 2003, 2004 and 2015. He earned 26 caps for the Sweden national speedway team. Career summary Jonsson excelled at Under-21 level winning two Swedish U21 Championships in 1998 and 2000, three Scandinavian titles and the 2000 Speedway Under-21 World Championship. Leon Madsen
Leon Daniel Madsen (born 5 September 1988) is a Danish speedway rider who is twice a World Championship silver medalist. Career Born in Vejle, Madsen won the 80cc junior World Championship in 2001. In 2018, Madsen won the Individual Speedway European Championship for the first time. The following year in 2019, he won the silver medal in the Speedway World Championship, finishing runner-up in the 2019 Speedway Grand Prix behind Bartosz Zmarzlik. He won three Grand Prix events during the 2019 Championship. He was part of the Denmark national speedway team that won consecutive bronze medals at the 2020 Speedway of Nations and 2021 Speedway of Nations. Artem Grigoryevich Laguta (; born 13 November 1990) is a Russian motorcycle speedway rider and member of the Russian national team. He is the 2021 World Champion. Career details Laguta became the Russian champion in 2010 and 2011. Bartosz Zmarzlik (Polish: ; born 12 April 1995) is a Polish motorcycle speedway rider, a five-time World Champion (2019, 2020, 2022, 2023 and 2024), three-time World Team Champion (2016, 2017, 2023), World Junior Champion (2015) and European Junior Champion (2012). Tai Woffinden (born 10 August 1990) is a British speedway rider. He is a three-time World Champion (2013, 2015 and 2018). Early life Woffinden was born in Scunthorpe, the son of former speedway rider Rob Woffinden. Although born in the United Kingdom and competing as a British rider, Woffinden grew up in Perth, Western Australia after his parents Rob and Sue decided to move there in 1994. Peter Kildemand (born 1 September 1989) is a motorcycle speedway rider from Denmark and was a member of the Danish national team. He is a two-time Speedway Grand Prix winner. Career Kildemand started riding in Britain for Workington Comets in 2010 and 2011, before signing for Coventry Bees mid-way through the 2011 season. He was a member of the Swindon Robins 2012 Elite League Championship winning team and was named "Rider of the Year" for the club at the end of the season.
