Spain National Baseball Team
The Spain national baseball team is the national team of Spain. It is governed by the Royal Spanish Baseball and Softball Federation. It is a member nation of the Confédération Européenne de Baseball, or Confederation of European Baseball. History The Spanish national team won the European Baseball Championship in 1955. In 1992, it took part in the Olympic Games, held in Barcelona. In 2013, they qualified for the first time for the World Baseball Classic. They lost all three games against Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, and Venezuela. Spain competed in the 2019 European Baseball Championship, coming in third to win a bronze medal. Among the players who competed for it were Engel Beltré, Rhiner Cruz, Ricardo Hernández, Fernando Martínez, Leslie Nacar, Antonio Noguera, and Blake Ochoa. Jesús Fernando Martínez Álvarez (born October 10, 1988) is a Dominican former professional baseball outfielder. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) with the New York Mets and Houston Astros. He bats left-handed and throws right-handed. By the summer of 2009, Martínez was estimated of a net worth of $1.7 million. 2023 World Baseball Classic Qualification
The qualifying round of the 2023 World Baseball Classic, officially called The World Baseball Classic 2022 Qualifiers was held from 16 September 2022 to 5 October 2022. Teams which participated at the 2017 World Baseball Classic automatically qualified for the 2023 tournament. The qualifying round consisted of two tournaments to be participated by six teams each. The qualifiers were planned to be hosted in Tucson, Arizona in the United States but after the delay, the qualifier hosts were changed to the cities of Regensburg, Germany at Armin-Wolf-Arena and Panamá City, Panama at Estadio Rod Carew. The WBSC World Rankings is a ranking system for national teams in baseball, softball, and baseball5. The teams of the member nations of the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC), the world governing body for both sports, are ranked based on their tournament results with the most successful teams being ranked highest. The 2023 European Baseball Championship was an international baseball tournament organized by the Confederation of European Baseball. It was held in five cities in the Czech Republic, from September 24 to October 1, 2023.
