Record Store Day is a semi-annual event established in 2008 to "celebrate the culture of the independently owned record store". Held on one Saturday (typically the third) every April and every Black Friday in November, the day brings together fans, artists, and thousands of independent record stores around the world. A number of records are pressed specifically for Record Store Day, with a list of releases for each country, and are only distributed to shops participating in the event. Hiss Golden Messenger is an American folk band originating from Durham, North Carolina, formed in 2007 and led by singer and songwriter MC Taylor. Natalie Prass (album)
''Natalie Prass'' is the debut studio album by Natalie Prass. It was co-produced by Matthew E. White and Trey Pollard. Composition, recording, and production Prass began writing songs for her self-titled as early as 2009. In January 2012, Prass began to record with Matthew E. White, her childhood friend and founder of Spacebomb Records, in his studio attic in Richmond, Virginia. White provided the horn arrangements and Trey Pollard provided the string arrangements. Since the budget for the album was “virtually nonexistent,” White utilized the help of his friends from the Virginia Commonwealth University jazz program to record the strings. By February 2012, recording for the album was complete but the release was delayed due to Spacebomb's inaugural release of ''Big Inner''. Nadia Reid (born 23 August 1991) is a singer-songwriter and guitarist from Port Chalmers, New Zealand. She has released three albums and toured internationally. Early life Reid was born in 1991 in Port Chalmers, near Dunedin, New Zealand. She is the daughter of Karin Reid and Craig O'Reilly. She was educated at Logan Park High School and Queen's High School in Dunedin. She began playing the guitar aged 14, winning the best female musician award in New Zealand's national youth music event Smokefreerockquest.
