Space Boy (1973 Film)
''Space Boy'' is a 1973 short science fiction film directed by Austrian artist Renate Druks. It was written by Florence Marly and featured music from electronic music pioneers Bebe and Louis Barron. It's rumored that Frank Zappa drummed on the soundtrack. The film was nominated for a Grand Prix at the 1973 Cannes Film Festival. Stuart Thomson plays the titular Space Boy and writer Florence Marly is the cosmic seductress Valana. ''Space Boy'' was intended as a sequel to Curtis Harrington's 1966 science-fiction horror film, ''Queen of Blood'', also featuring Marly, and itself based on an earlier Soviet film. In 2009, ''Space Boy'' was remade by Columbus, Ohio, filmmaker, Mike Olenick. ''Siamese Dream'' is the second studio album by the American alternative rock band the Smashing Pumpkins, released on July 19, 1993, by Virgin Records. The album was produced by Butch Vig and frontman Billy Corgan. Despite its recording sessions being fraught with difficulties and tensions, ''Siamese Dream'' debuted at number ten on the ''Billboard'' 200, and was eventually certified 4× Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), with the album selling over six million copies worldwide, catapulting the Smashing Pumpkins to mainstream success and cementing them as a significant group in alternative music. ''Rolie Polie Olie'' is an animated television series created by William Joyce, and is produced by Nelvana in co-production with French broadcaster La Cinquième/France 5. It was produced in association with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation and Disney Channel/Playhouse Disney in the United States. The show focuses on a robot boy and his family who are composed of several spheres and other three-dimensional geometric shapes. The show was one of the earliest series that was fully animated in CGI. The series was broadcast from October 4, 1998, to April 28, 2004, and was followed with two straight-to-video films titled ''The Great Defender of Fun'' and ''The Baby Bot Chase'', in 2002 and 2003 respectively.
