SpaceQuest
AAC SpaceQuest (also known as SpaceQuest, Ltd.), a wholly owned subsidiary of AAC Clyde Space, is a spacecraft components and engineering company located in Fairfax, Virginia, which focuses on the operations of small satellites. The company designs, develops, constructs, launches, and operates microsatellites and spacecraft components. SpaceQuest qualifies its components for use in space by flying them on its own satellites. They also operate a fleet of low earth orbiting satellites, which are used for remote monitoring as well as tracking the location and status of large vessels at sea. SpaceQuest's customers include US and foreign universities, NASA, the US Air Force, the Canadian Space Agency, commercial aerospace companies, and foreign developers of microsatellites. AAC Clyde Space
AAC Clyde Space is a Private Space company that manufacturers satellites and satellite components for various contractors. The company operates out of Scotland, Sweden, the United States, the Netherlands, and South Africa, with partners in Japan and South Korea. History AAC Clyde Space formed in 2019 as the result of a merger between Scottish firm Clyde Space operating out of Glasgow, and the Swedish firm ÅAC Microtec operating out of Uppsala. Both ÅAC Microtec and Clyde Space where formed in 2005. At the time of the merger, which was funded by investors from Nevis Capital and Coralinn, over 40% of all CubeSats had some components manufactured by Clyde Space. ''Genesis II'' is the second experimental space habitat designed and built by the private American firm Bigelow Aerospace, launched in 2007. As the second module sent into orbit by the company, this spacecraft built on the data and experience gleaned from its previously orbited sister-ship '' Genesis I''. Like its sister-ship and other modules being designed by Bigelow Aerospace, this spacecraft was based on the NASA TransHab design, which provided increased interior volume and reduced launch diameter along with potentially reduced mass compared to traditional rigid structures. ''Genesis I'' is an experimental space habitat designed and built by the private American firm Bigelow Aerospace and launched in 2006. It was the first module to be sent into orbit by the company, and tested various systems, materials and techniques related to determining the viability of long-term inflatable space structures through 2008. Such structures, including this module and others built by Bigelow Aerospace, were similar to the 1990s NASA expandable TransHab design, which aimed to provide increased interior volume at a reduced launch diameter and potentially reduced mass compared to traditional rigid structures. AMSAT-OSCAR 51 or AO-51 is the in-orbit name designation of a now defunct (following battery failure) LEO amateur radio satellite of the OSCAR series; formerly known as ECHO, built by AMSAT. It was launched on June 29, 2004 from Baikonur Cosmodrome, Kazakhstan on a Dnepr launch vehicle. It is in Sun synchronous low Earth orbit. AO-51 contained an FM repeater with both 144 MHz ( VHF) and 1.2 GHz (L band) uplinks and 435 MHz (UHF) and 2.4 GHz (S band) downlinks. It also contained a digital subsystem that transmitted telemetry on 70 cm and provided a complete PACSAT BBS that could be configured on both V band and S band uplinks.
