Southwark College
Southwark College is a further education college located in the London Borough of Southwark. The college at one time had seven sites; it is now based at a building on The Cut, opposite Southwark tube station. The college has been part of Newcastle College Group since 2017. Courses The college offers GCSE, English for Speakers of Other Languages, ESOL, Access course, Access, City & Guilds and Business And Technology Education Council (BTEC), BTEC courses in many subjects. Lewisham College
Lewisham College is a further education college in the London Borough of Lewisham, south-east London. It was established in 1990, having previously been known as SELTEC (South East London College of Technology) since the early 1970s, which was run by the Inner London Education Authority. The college has two campuses, its main one on Lewisham Way in Brockley, and another one in Church Street, Deptford. History The Deptford campus of the college opened in 1996. Sue Black (computer Scientist)
Susan Elizabeth Black (born 1962) is a British computer scientist, academic and social entrepreneur. She is known for saving Bletchley Park, (World War II codebreaking) with her ''Saving Bletchley Park'' campaign. Since 2018, she has been Professor of Computer Science and Technology Evangelist at Durham University. She was previously based at the University of Westminster and University College London. Early life and education Sue Black was born in 1962 in Fareham, Hampshire. She left school and home at 16, the earliest legal age. She married at 20 and soon had three children. Nick Petford
Nick Petford (born 27 May 1961, London, England) is a British academic and former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Northampton. Previously he was Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Research and Enterprise) at Bournemouth University and before that Professor of Earth and Planetary Sciences at Kingston University. He has also worked for BP and on academic and commercial research projects throughout the world. As an academic he is known for his expertise in magmatic systems and volcanology. Clive Efford
Clive Stanley Efford (born 10 July 1958) is a British Labour Party politician who has served as Member of Parliament (MP) for Eltham and Chislehurst, previously Eltham, since 1997. Early life Efford was born in London and educated at Walworth School and Southwark College. He worked in his family jewellery business, until he completed The Knowledge and qualified as London taxi driver in 1987. In 1986, he became an elected councillor in the London Borough of Greenwich, and continued in both these occupations until being elected to Parliament in 1997.
