Southside Park (Miami)
Southside Park is, at , one of the largest parks in the City of Atlanta. It is located along Jonesboro Road in the southern part of the city just north of the Perimeter (I-285). Although it once ranked as the city's largest park, the new Westside Park at now holds that claim. Southside Park includes 4 baseball diamonds, concession stand, 6 pickleball courts, approximately 7 miles of mountain bike and trail-running/hiking trails,https://www.trailforks.com/ and parking lot. In 2007, the city completed a study for the development of the park. The study called out the lack of facilities in the park and the difficulty of access on foot, by bike, and by public transportation. Interstate 285 (I-285) is an auxiliary Interstate Highway encircling Atlanta, Georgia, for . It connects the three major Interstate Highways to Atlanta: Interstate 20 in Georgia, I-20, Interstate 75 in Georgia, I-75, and Interstate 85 in Georgia, I-85. Colloquially referred to as the Perimeter, it also carries Unsigned highway, unsigned State Route 407 (SR 407) and is signed as Atlanta Bypass on I-20, I-75, and I-85. Because of suburban sprawl, it is estimated that more than two million people use the highway each day, making it one of the busiest Interstates in the Atlanta metropolitan area, and one of the most heavily traveled roadways in the US. Westside Park
Shirley Clarke Franklin Park (formerly Westside Park) is a park in the City of Atlanta located on the site of the former Bellwood Quarry. The park is between Johnson Road and Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway and between the neighborhoods of Bankhead, Grove Park, and Knight Park/Howell Station. Westside Park at Bellwood Quarry was a major green space project of the Atlanta BeltLine master plan. The park has trail connectivity to the Proctor Creek Greenway Trail (Phase 1) and will ultimately have connectivity to the BeltLine. Status The land, which was owned by Fulton County, was previously leased to Vulcan Materials. International Mountain Bicycling Association
The International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA) is a non-profit educational association that aims to create and preserve trails for mountain bikers worldwide. The IMBA promotes mountain biking, trail building, and trail maintenance. The IMBA has developed a set of principles known as the "Rules of the Trail", which promote responsibility on shared-use and single track trails. History The IMBA was formed in 1988 by the Concerned Off Road Bicyclists Association, Bicycle Trails Council of the East Bay, Bicycle Trails Council of Marin, Sacramento Rough Riders and Responsible Organized Mountain Pedalers. Gibson Anderson of Sacramento was the IMBA's first elected executive director.
