Southport High School is a public high school located in Indianapolis, Indiana, United States. Located in Perry Township, on the south side of the city, Southport is a part of the Perry Township Schools. Demographics The demographic breakdown of the 2,191 students enrolled for 2016-17 was: *Male - 51.0% *Female - 49.0% *Native American/Alaskan - >0.1% *Asian - 18.6% *Black - 6.0% *Hispanic - 14.7% *White - 54.6% *Multiracial - 6.1% 59.0% of the students were eligible for free or reduced-cost lunch. Old Southport High School
Old Southport High School, also known as the Old Southport Middle School, is a historic high school building located at Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana. It was built in 1930, and is a two-story, U-shaped, Colonial Revival style steel frame and concrete building sheathed in red brick with limestone detailing. It has a side gabled roof topped by an octagonal cupola. The front facade features a grand portico supported by six Corinthian order columns. Cameron Perkins
Cameron Edwards Perkins (born September 27, 1990) is an American former professional baseball outfielder. He previously played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Philadelphia Phillies. He was born in Beaumont, Texas, and played at Southport High School where he was drafted by the Seattle Mariners. Subsequently, he attended Purdue University, and excelled playing baseball there before the Philadelphia Phillies drafted him in 2012. While making his way through the minor leagues, he was three-times named an all-star before earning a promotion to the Major League, making his major league debut in June 2017. Robin Miller (journalist)
Robin Lee Miller (October 27, 1949 – August 25, 2021) was an American motorsports journalist. Miller was best known for being a writer at ''The Indianapolis Star'' from 1968–2001. He also wrote for '' Autoweek'', ''Car and Driver'', ''ESPN'' and ''Speed''. At the time of his death, he was a correspondent and senior writer for '' RACER'' magazine and website, while also reporting on IndyCar Series broadcasts for NBCSN. Racing career Miller first visited the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in 1957, and attended his first Indianapolis 500 in 1959. In 1968, at the age of 18, he got to "stooge" for his driving hero Jim Hurtubise at Indy. Miller was hired for free to do odd jobs with the pit crew, but was fired before the end of the month after he ruined the paint job on Hurtubise's car. Chris Lytle
Chris Scott Lytle (born August 18, 1974) is an American retired mixed martial artist and boxer. A professional from 1999 until 2011 and twenty-fight veteran of the UFC, Lytle also fought in Pancrase, Cage Rage, and the WEC.
