Southgate Shopping Center
Southgate Shopping Center is a shopping center located at the southeast corner of Eureka and Trenton Roads in Southgate, Michigan. Completed by 1958, it was one of the first major strip malls in the southern Detroit suburbs until the nearby Southland Center opened in 1970. At its peak, the center housed over thirty stores. History Construction and opening As early as 1952, the Realty Mortgage and Investment Corporation of Detroit announced that a multimillion-dollar ''Southgate Center'' would be built at Eureka and Trenton Roads, and that "space has already been let to many Michigan chain stores, including Kinsel Drugs, Federal's, Wrigley Stores, S. S. Kresge and others," with construction scheduled to begin in the fall of 1952. Westfield Southgate
Crossings at Siesta Key (formerly known as South Gate Shopping Plaza, Southgate Plaza, Westfield Southgate, and Westfield Siesta Key) is a shopping mall in Sarasota, Florida that opened in 1956. The mall is anchored by Macy's, LA Fitness, and Cinebistro History Strip mall Crossings at Siesta Key originally opened on January 15, 1957 as an outdoor strip mall named South Gate Shopping Plaza. The original strip included two supermarkets: Publix and Winn Dixie, along with a W. T. Grant and Woolworth. JCPenney was added as part of a 1961 expansion, which brought a department store to the plaza. W.T. Grant closed in 1977. The building was bought by Burdines, which opened in November of 1977. Burdines heavily renovated the building in preparation for opening. Southgate Mall is the sole enclosed shopping center in the sixteen county Historic Albemarle region of northeastern North Carolina. Located on West Ehringhaus Street ( US 17 Business) in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, the mall is currently anchored by Belk and until its closing in early April 2015; JCPenney. Construction of the mall started in 1967 at a cost of $3 million ($21.2 million in 2014 dollars), opening two years later as ''Southgate Plaza Shopping Center'' with senior anchors Belk-Tyler and W. Southgate Mall is a shopping mall located in Missoula, Montana. The shopping center originally opened in August 1978 with Hart-Albin, Hennessy's, Nordstrom Place Two and Sears as anchor stores. Southgate Mall (Muscle Shoals)
Southgate Mall is an enclosed shopping mall in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. Around 2005 the inside of the mall closed and the businesses that remained moved to the outside of the mall. Opened in 1968, the anchor stores are Tractor Supply Company, Walgreens, Genesis Jewelry, Pet Supplies Plus, Hibbett Sports, and Burke's Outlet. There is 1 vacant anchor store that was once Rogers. Walmart was a tenant of the mall at one point, but now has its own free-standing store next to the mall. History The mall opened in 1968, featuring Woolco and Rogers as its original anchor stores. Southgate Centre
Southgate Centre is a shopping centre located in south Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, covering just under 90,000 square metres. It contains 165 retailers including The Bay, Aritzia, Zara, Michael Kors, Browns Shoes and Edmonton's only Restoration Hardware and Crate & Barrel. Apple opened a second store in Edmonton at Southgate Centre on May 28, 2010, and Edmonton's first Lego store opened in June 2013.
