Southern Rep Theatre
Southern Rep (Southern Rep Theatre) is a regional theatre located in New Orleans, Louisiana. It is a member of National New Plays Network and Theatre Communications Group. Founded in 1986 by Dr. Rosary O'Neill, it is now led by Producing Artistic Director Aimee Hayes. Southern Rep has been the recipient of the Governor's Arts Organization Award from Lt. Gov. Mitch Landrieu and the State Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism. One Canal Place
One Canal Place, located at 365 Canal Street in the Central Business District of New Orleans, Louisiana, is a 32-story, -tall skyscraper. The building contains The Shops at Canal Place and is attached to the Westin New Orleans Canal Place hotel, with which it shares a parking garage. During the colonial era before levees were constructed, the land now occupied by the Canal Place complex was commonly covered by the waters of the Mississippi River. In the 1720s, a windmill was constructed near what is now Canal Street and North Peters Street. By the 20th century, the land was occupied by the American Sugar Refinery facilities. The 19th-century warehouses as well as Crossman Street (parallel to Canal Street) were removed to allow the construction of One Canal Place. James Michalopoulos
James Michalopoulos (born 1951) is an American painter and sculptor. He is best known for his colorful interpretations of New Orleans. He has painted the landscape surrounding his home in Burgundy, France; cityscapes and street life in San Francisco and Boston; and anthropomorphically rendered animals. Personal life and education James Michalopoulos, born James Mitchell, was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1951.
