South Western Air Command
The South Western Air Command (SWAC) is one of the five operational commands of the Indian Air Force, headquartered in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, Gandhinagar. It was raised in Jodhpur in July 1980 from the No.1 Operations Group of the Western Air Command, Indian Air Force, Western Air Command. Its operations sector includes most of Rajasthan, through Gujarat and Saurashtra (region), Saurashtra, as far south as Kutch and Pune. The SWAC moved to its current headquarters in Gandhinagar in May 1998, and incorporates the Indian airbases of Bhuj Airport, Bhuj, Jaisalmer Airport, Jaisalmer, Phalodi Air Force Station, Phalodi, Naliya Air Force Station, Naliya, Jamnagar Airport, Jamnagar, Jodhpur Airport, Jodhpur, Uttarlai Air Force Station, Uttarlai/Barmer and Pune Airport, Pune. Jodhpur Airport
Jodhpur Airport is a domestic airport and an Indian Air Force base serving the city of Jodhpur, Rajasthan, India. It is operated by the Airports Authority of India (AAI) and shares its airside with the Jodhpur Air Force Station of the Indian Air Force. The Government of Rajasthan signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Air Force for the expansion of the passenger terminal in March 2017, wherein 37 acres of IAF land was transferred to AAI.
