South Queensland Crushers
South Queensland Crushers was an Australian rugby league football club based in Brisbane, Queensland. In 1992 it was decided that the team would be admitted into the New South Wales Rugby League competition, along with three other teams, as part of the League's expansion plans for professional rugby league in Australia. The competition was re-branded the Australian Rugby League competition in 1995, which was the Crushers' first season. The Crushers, whose whole existence was against the backdrop of the Super League war, were an unsuccessful club. They had to compete for support with the other Brisbane-based club, the Brisbane Broncos, who were already well-established. The Crushers only competed in the three seasons of the Australian Rugby League's premiership, winning the wooden spoon twice for being last in the competition. Bob Lindner
Bob Lindner (born 10 November 1962) is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1980s and 1990s, and coached in the 1990s. An Australia national and Queensland State of Origin representative forward, he is one of a handful of players to be named man-of-the-match in State of Origin football more than once. Fifteen years after his retirement from football in Australia, he had made the most appearances and scored the most tries of any forward in State of Origin history. North Sydney Bears
The North Sydney Bears are an Australian rugby league football club based in Cammeray on Sydney's North Shore (Sydney), North Shore. The club currently competes in the NSW Cup, having exited the National Rugby League following the 1999 NRL season after 90 years in the premier rugby league competition in Australia. At the end of the 1999 season, the club merged with the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles to form the Northern Eagles which only lasted two years and the license was reverted to the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles leaving the Bears without top flight representation. Malcolm Norman Meninga (; born 8 July 1960) is an Australian professional rugby league coach and a former professional rugby league footballer. Fili Seru (born 11 March 1970) is a Fijian rugby footballer who represented Fiji in the 1991 Rugby Union World Cup and the 1995 Rugby League World Cup. Anthony Herbert (rugby)
Anthony Herbert (born 13 August 1966) is a former Australian rugby footballer. He represented the Wallabies on a number of occasions during the late 1980s and early 1990s. He was also a part of the Australian squad that won the 1991 Rugby World Cup in England. Early years Herbert attended Marist College Ashgrove. His brother Daniel was also an Australian rugby union representative player. Rugby union career Herbert made his debut for the Wallabies on 17 May 1987 in a match against Korea. He came off the bench as a replacement, and the Wallabies eventually won the match, 65 points to 18, at Ballymore in Brisbane. Garrick Morgan
Garrick Morgan (born 25 January 1970), is an Australian rugby coach and former rugby footballer, who played rugby union for the Australian team from 1992 to 1997. In 2006, he became coach of the Gold Coast Breakers. He is currently head coach of the Souths in the Queensland Premier Rugby competition. Mark Hohn (; born 29 January 1964) is an Australian former rugby league footballer who played in the 1980s and 1990s. Trevor Gillmeister (born 13 March 1964) is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who is employed as a rugby league analyst at Channel 7 Brisbane. During his playing days, Gillmeister played for the Eastern Suburbs Roosters, Brisbane Broncos, Penrith Panthers and the South Queensland Crushers, as well as representing Queensland and Australia. Queensland State Rugby League Team
The Queensland rugby league team represents the Australian state of Queensland in rugby league football.
