South African National Road Race Championships
The South African National Road Race Championship is a road bicycle race that takes place inside the South African National Cycling Championship, and decides the best cyclist in this type of race. The first race winner of the road race championship was Malcolm Lange in 1995; Malcolm Lange is the only cyclist to have won the championships three times. The women's record is held by Anriette Schoeman with 7 wins. Nicholas "Nic" White (born 8 January 1974) is a South African former racing cyclist. White won the UCI Africa Tour series in 2007/8 season and the African Road Championship in Cameroon in 2007. In 2008 White competed in the Absa Cape Epic with partner Anke Erlank, placing 1st in the Mixed Category. Jay Robert Thomson (born 12 April 1986) is a South African former professional racing cyclist, who rode professionally between 2007 and 2020, for the , , , and teams. In 2013 he won the South African National Road Race Championships. He rode in the 2014 Vuelta a España. He was named in the start list for the 2016 Giro d'Italia. Robert Hunter (cyclist)
Robert "Robbie" Hunter (born 22 April 1977) is a retired South African professional road racing cyclist who competed professionally between 1999 and 2013. Hunter competed with UCI ProTeam during his final professional season. Career Hunter became the first South African to compete in the Tour de France, when he did so in 2001 Tour de France, 2001. In 2006, Hunter rode for in the UCI ProTour, but after their disbandment he signed for UCI Continental Circuits team for 2007. Burry Stander
Burry Willie Stander (16 September 1987 – 3 January 2013) was a South African mountain biker, the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup under-23 men's cross-country 2009 world champion. In the 2008 Summer Olympics, held in Beijing, Stander finished 15th in the cross-country mountain bike race. In the 2012 Summer Olympics, held in London, Stander finished 5th in the cross-country mountain bike race. Stander paired up with Christoph Sauser in 2009 for the Absa Cape Epic. Although the team only managed 6th place that year, they then came back in 2010 to claim 2nd place. Finally in 2011 Stander and Sauser finished in 1st place, making Stander the first South African rider to win the Absa Cape Epic. In 2012 the team were victorious once again, winning the Prologue and four of the seven stages of the marathon stage race. James Lewis Perry
James Lewis Perry (born 19 November 1979 in Cape Town) is a South African former professional road cyclist. Perry has previously ridden for the UCI Professional Continental team Barloworld until the team's demise. In 2001 he won a bronze medal at the World Under 23 Time Trial Championship. He has been a professional since 2002. He won the Time Trial at the South African Championships in 2002, and also came second in 2007. Waylon Woolcock (born 8 July 1982 in Middelburg) is a South African professional mountain biker, riding for Team RE:CM Woolcock started cycling as a road rider at the age of 15 and turned professional at the age of 19. In 2007, he won his first major cycling tour, Tour d'Egypte. In 2008 he finished second in the South African National Road Race Championship.
