Soundariya Nanjundan (born 5 August 1995) is an Indian actress and television personality who predominantly appears in Tamil film and television. In 2018, she made her debut in the talent reality show '' Villa to Village'' and emerged as the 4th runner-up. Followed by her television appearance she played supporting roles in multiple films. In 2024, she participated in the reality show '' Bigg Boss 8'' and emerged as the 1st runner-up. Early life Soundariya was born in Bangalore, Karnataka on 5 August 1995 to a Kannada speaking father and a Tamil speaking mother. At a very young age Soundariya's parents migrated to Chennai, Tamil Nadu to start up a bakery business and since then she has lived in Chennai. She completed her education in Chennai and later studied at University of Madras where she completed her degree. ''Draupathi'' is a 2020 Indian Tamil-language action drama film written, directed, and produced by Mohan G. Kshatriyan. The film stars Richard Rishi and Sheela Rajkumar, with K. S. G. Venkatesh, Karunas, Nishanth and Soundariya Nanjundan in supporting roles. The music of the film was composed by Jubin and cinematography was performed by Manoj Narayan and edited by Devaraj S. The film is a crowdfunding project. A sequel titled ''Draupathi 2'', also directed by Mohan G and starring Richard Rishi was announced on 26 February 2025. The film released on 28 February 2020 to mostly negative reviews from critics. It was released amidst huge controversies related to casteism. The film has been criticized for its alleged pro-casteism stand and intent to uphold casteism. It was also heavily criticised for its regressive storyline.
