SoundForth was a division of the Bob Jones University Press until October 1, 2012, when it was sold to Lorenz Publishing. SoundForth produces and markets religious music recordings through a music download websiteSacredAudioas well as a mailing catalog. Bob Jones University (BJU) is a private university in Greenville, South Carolina, United States. It is known for its Conservatism in the United States, conservative and Evangelicalism in the United States, evangelical cultural and religious positions. The Lorenz Corporation, previously known as Lorenz Publishing Company, is a music publisher located in Dayton, Ohio, United States. It is best known for its publication of church music for smaller congregations served by amateur musicians. It also publishes other varieties of music and general education materials. History The company was founded by E.S. Lorenz in 1890 and has been under the management of E.S. Lorenz and his descendants since that time. The idea came in 1889 "when he had compiled a hymnal for the United Brethren Publishing House located in downtown Dayton." In the 1970s and 1980s, the company changed its name to Lorenz Industries, and then The Lorenz Corporation. Reiff Lorenz, a great great grandson of the founder, operates the company today. A music download is the digital transfer of music via the Internet into a device capable of decoding and playing it, such as a personal computer, portable media player, MP3 player or smartphone. This term encompasses both legal downloads and downloads of copyrighted material without permission or legal payment. Emily Henrietta Hickey (1845–1924) was an Irish author, narrative poet and translator. Biography She was born in Macmine Castle, near Enniscorthy in County Wexford, daughter of the Rev. J. S. Hickey, Church of Ireland vicar of Goresbridge and granddaughter of Rev. William Hickey ("Martin Doyle"), an agriculturist. She studied at Cambridge and then became lecturer in English language and literature at University College London. Dwight Gustafson
Dwight Leonard Gustafson (April 20, 1930 – January 28, 2014) was an American composer, conductor, and dean of the School of Fine Arts at Bob Jones University. Biography Gustafson was born in Seattle, Washington to Leonard Gustafson, a meat dealer and lay preacher, and Rachel Gustafson, a pianist, harpist, and artist. His childhood home was on Lake Sammamish, and he graduated in 1948 from Queen Anne High School. Despite early violin training, Gustafson was attracted to a career in art and design. As a sophomore at Bob Jones University, he was asked to make sketches for a production of ''Cyrano de Bergerac'' and ended by designing the sets. In 1954, shortly before graduating from BJU with an M.A. in music, he was flabbergasted to be asked by the then-president, Bob Jones Jr., to become dean of the School of Fine Arts. Gustafson was 24. Dan Forrest
Daniel Ernest Forrest Jr. (born January 7, 1978) is an American composer, pianist, educator, and music editor. Biography Dan Forrest was born in Breesport, New York, and began piano lessons with his elementary school music teacher at age 8. In high school Forrest won numerous piano awards, accompanied honors choirs, and performed the Grieg Piano Concerto with the Elmira Symphony. He majored in piano at Bob Jones University, earning a B.Mus. and an M.Mus. in Piano Performance, studying advanced theory and composition with Joan Pinkston and Dwight Gustafson. After teaching piano in South Carolina for three years, he moved to Kansas, where he earned a D.M.A. in composition from the University of Kansas, studying with wind band composer James Barnes.
