Soulsavers
Soulsavers (also known as The Soulsavers Soundsystem) is an English-American production and remix team composed of Rich Machin and Ian Glover. The Soulsavers' downtempo electronica sound incorporates influences of rock, gospel, soul, and country. ''Angels & Ghosts'' is the fifth studio album by English electronica production duo Soulsavers, released on 23 October 2015 by Columbia Records. It is their second collaboration with Dave Gahan, the frontman of Depeche Mode, as guest vocalist and songwriter, this time released under the moniker Dave Gahan & Soulsavers. Artwork The cover photo was shot by Gahan's daughter Stella Rose. Release and promotion The album was released as digital download, as well as CD and vinyl through Columbia on 23 October 2015. In support of the album, a tour with a 10-piece band followed with six shows in the US and Europe in late October and early November. Pre-orders for the album started 11 September 2015. ''Imposter'' is the third collaborative studio album by English singer-songwriter Dave Gahan and electronica producer Soulsavers. It was released on 12 November 2021 by Columbia Records. The album also produced one single. Background This is Gahan's fifth studio album and Soulsavers' seventh. ''Imposter'' was recorded live in Malibu, California in November 2019, consisting of cover versions of various rock songs. Dave Gahan has said of the album: "When I listen to other people's voices and songs—more importantly the way they sing them and interpret the words—I feel at home. I identify with it. It comforts me more than anything else. There's not one performer on the record who I haven't been moved by." ''Broken'' is the third full-length studio album by English-American production team Soulsavers, and their second album predominantly featuring Mark Lanegan as lead vocalist. The album was released by V2 Records, V2 and Cooperative Music in the UK on 17 August 2009, and released by Columbia Records in the US in September 2009 as a digital download. ''Broken'' features a roster of guest musicians, including Mike Patton, Gibby Haynes, Richard Hawley, Jason Pierce, Richard Warren (musician), Richard Warren and Dustin O'Halloran. ''It's Not How Far You Fall, It's the Way You Land'' is the second studio album by English-American production team Soulsavers, released on 2 April 2007 in the UK and 16 October 2007 in the US. The album also produced two singles. Background The album features American singer Mark Lanegan as primary vocalist. Lanegan is also credited as a co-writer for five of the album's songs. The album also features guests Jimi Goodwin of Doves, Will Oldham (a.k.a. Bonnie "Prince" Billy), P.W. Long and Richard Warren. The album spawned two singles, "Revival" and "Kingdoms of Rain". "Kingdoms of Rain" was initially released on Lanegan's second solo album, '' Whiskey for the Holy Ghost'', in 1994. Mark Lanegan
Mark William Lanegan (November 25, 1964 – February 22, 2022) was an American singer and songwriter. First becoming prominent as the lead singer for the early grunge band Screaming Trees, he was also known as a member of Queens of the Stone Age and The Gutter Twins. He released twelve solo studio albums as well as three collaboration albums with Isobel Campbell and two with Duke Garwood. He was known for his baritone voice, which was described as being "as scratchy as a three-day beard yet as supple and pliable as moccasin leather" and has been compared to Tom Waits, Leonard Cohen and Nick Cave. Lanegan began his musical career in 1984 in Screaming Trees, with whom he released seven studio albums and five EPs before their disbandment in 2000. Richard Willis Hawley (born 17 January 1967) is an English singer-songwriter, guitarist, and producer. After his first band Treebound Story (formed while he was still at school) broke up, Hawley found success as a member of Britpop band Longpigs in the 1990s.
