Sotra Upper Secondary School
Sotra or Store Sotra is the name of a large island in Øygarden Municipality in Vestland county, Norway, located just west of the city of Bergen. It is part of a pair of islands called 'Sotra' and 'Litlesotra' ('small Sotra') that are part of a large archipelago stretching from Fedje southwards along the coast of Norway. The larger of the two islands is Store Sotra (also called Sotra), while Litlesotra is smaller and less populated of the two. Roughly 28,700 (2017) people live on the two islands of Sotra, with the larger island having a population of about 19,100 (2017) and 9,589 (2017) living on the smaller island. Geography The main population centres on Sotra include (from north to south) Vindenes, Ågotnes, Knappskog, Møvik, Tælavåg, Hammarsland, Skogsvåg, and Klokkarvik. Part of the island was in the former municipality of Fjell, and the large disused Fjell Fortress, built by German forces in World War II, is on the island. Toftøyna
Toftøyna or Toftøy is an island in Øygarden municipality in Vestland county, Norway. The island is the southernmost of the main islands of Øygarden. It is connected by bridge to the island of Rongøy (to the north), to the small island of Turøy (to the southwest), and to the island of Misje in Fjell municipality (to the south). Toftøyna is connected to the mainland by a series of bridges by heading south via Misje island. There are 2 main settlements on the rocky island: Vikavågen on the southeastern shore and Torsteinsvik on the northwestern shore. Misje
Misje is an island (and village) in Øygarden Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. The island lies just south of the island of Toftøyna and north of the large island of Sotra. Almost all of the 257 inhabitants (as of 2009) live on the eastern part of the island, which is referred to as the village of Misje. Historically, the island was part of the old municipality of Herdla. Toftøya or Toftarøyna is an island in Øygarden Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. Geography The island lies just south of the large island of Sotra, along the northern side of the Korsfjorden. The village of Klokkarvik lies about northeast of the island. The island is connected to Sotra by a bridge on County Road 200. Lerøyna
Lerøyna or Lerøy is an island in Øygarden Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. The island lies at the south end of the Raunefjorden, between the mainland Bergen Peninsula and the large island of Sotra. The smaller island of Bjelkarøyna lies just northeast of Lerøyna. The island has about 30 permanent residents and many vacation cabins. The island has no road bridge connection with the mainland or other islands, but there is a regular ferry route from Klokkarvik on Sotra, to Lerøyna, to Bjelkarøyna, and then to Hjellestad in Bergen on the mainland. Øygarden and Bergen municipalities have been making plans to build a road bridge connecting Lerøyna and Bjelkarøyna with a possible connection to the mainland.
