Sosnowiec Główny Railway Station
Sosnowiec Główny railway station is a major railway stations in Sosnowiec, Silesian Voivodeship, Poland. The station is located about 9 km to the East of Katowice railway station. As of 2022, it is served by Polregio (local and InterRegio services) and PKP Intercity (EIP, InterCity, and TLK services). The railway station was established on August 24, 1859 as part of the connection of the Warsaw–Vienna railway, Warsaw-Vienna Railway and the Upper Silesian Railway as a border station, which over time gave rise to the city of Sosnowiec. Sielecki Castle
Sielecki Castle is a castle in the city of Sosnowiec in southern Poland, located in the Sielc district. The castle is located on the left bank of the Czarna Przemsza River. It was built in the 17th century and it is the oldest building in the city. Architecture Originally a defensive fortification, expanded in 1620 into a four-wing complex with corner towers, perhaps using earlier buildings. The castle was built of broken limestone and brick. Storey building with basement. After the fire in 1824, the castle was rebuilt in 1832, but the east wing with the entrance gate was demolished and the moats were filled. Despite these changes, the original defensive character is evidenced by the shape of the block, four corner towers and projections on the extension of the side wings. Schön Palace
Schön Palace is a palace located in Sosnowiec in southern Poland. The building is located near the Warsaw–Vienna railway and surrounded by a neo-Romantic park (the Schön Park). Since 1985 it has housed the Museum in Sosnowiec. Wilhelm Palace is located nearby. It is one of the two palaces of the Schön family in Sosnowiec; the other being the New Schön Palace. History The neo-Baroque structure was constructed by Ernst Schön at the end of the 19th century. It was altered several times. Sosnowiec Cathedral
The Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary ( ) also called Sosnowiec Cathedral is a religious building affiliated with the Catholic Church which is located in the city of Sosnowiec in the European country of Poland. It is eclectic church built in 1899, on the plan of a Latin cross basilica type. As of 25 March 1992 is the cathedral of the Diocese of Sosnowiec. The most important Catholic shrine of Sosnowiec was built between 1893 and 1899. In 1896 there was put into operation for the faithful the lower chapel. The Dąbrowa Basin (also, Dąbrowa Coal Basin) or Zagłębie Dąbrowskie (; is a geographical and historical region in southern Poland.
