Sorkheh
Sorkheh ( fa, سرخه, also Romanized as Surkheh; in sqo, سور ''Sūr''; literally "the red one") is a city in and the capital of Sorkheh County, in Semnan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 9,062, in 2,686 families. Sorkhei, a Semnani Persian dialect and language, is still spoken by some of its inhabitants. Hassan Rouhani ( fa, حسن روحانی, Standard Persian pronunciation: ; born Hassan Fereydoun ( fa, حسن فریدون, links=no); 12 November 1948) is an Iranian politician who served as the seventh president of Iran from 2013 to 2021. Ali Asqar Peyvandi ( fa, علی اصغر پیوندی) born 1962- Sorkheh, is an Iranian physician, politician and university professor. He was the head of the Iranian Red Crescent Society between 2017 and 2019 when he was forced to resign before being arrested on charges of embezzlement. Education Peyvandi received his general medical degree from Shiraz University of Medical Science in 1989 and also Otorhinolaryngology degree from the same university in 1993. Hossein Fereydoun ( fa, حسین فریدون, born in 1957) is an Iranian politician. Fereydoun is brother and aide to the President Hassan Rouhani, described as his “eyes and ears” in the negotiations leading to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action. Early life and education Born in 1957 in Sorkheh, Fereydoun had a PhD in International relations from the Shahid Beheshti University. Career He was responsible for the Ayatollah Khomeini's security when he returned to Iran in 1979. He served as the district governor of Karaj and Nishapur.
