Sorcha Richardson (born 22 September 1990) is an Irish singer-songwriter from Dublin. Early life Sorcha Richardson grew up in Dalkey. She formed her first band aged 10 with schoolfriends. She went to Brooklyn to study creative writing. Career Richardson came back to Dublin in late 2017. In 2018 she played at Longitude Festival and was named as one of RTÉ 2FM's Rising Artists, and she has worked with the Irish band All Tvvins. Her debut album ''First Prize Bravery'' (on the theme of "negotiating friendships and relationships") was released in 2019 and was nominated for the Choice Music Prize. Sorcha-Lucy Eastwood is a Northern Irish politician who has served as Member of Parliament (MP) for Lagan Valley since 2024. A member of the Alliance Party, she previously served as a member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Lagan Valley from 2022 until her election to the House of Commons in 2024. Sorcha Ní Ghuairim (11 October 1911 – 1976) was a teacher, writer, and sean-nós singer. Life Sorcha Ní Ghuairim was born in Roisín na Manach, Carna in the Connemara Gaeltacht in County Galway on 11 October 1911. Her parents were Máirtín Gorham and Catherine Burke. She was the youngest of their 11 children. Ní Ghuairim was particularly well known as a singer. She joined her sister Máire Ní Ghuairim, in Dublin in 1928 and obtained a teaching post with Conradh na Gaeilge. She studied at University College Galway with Tomás Ó Máille. An active promoter of the Irish language revival, she wrote a column for ''The Irish Press'' under the name "Coisín Siúlach". Sorcha MacMahon (20 July 1888 – 13 December 1970) was an Irish nationalist and republican who was active during the Easter Rising of 1916 and both the War of Independence and the Irish Civil War. Early life She was born Sarah Teresa MacMahon to James and Sarah MacMahon of Coas, County Monaghan in 1888. She was one of four boys and three girls. She used the Irish form of her name, Sorcha. Irish was the family's first language. She was educated in Laggan National School and St Louis School in Monaghan. After school she went to Dublin and took a commercial course. Sorcha Boru was the studio name of Claire Everett Stewart ( Jones; April 13, 1900 – January 30, 2006), a potter and ceramic sculptor. Sorca Clarke (born 1978/1979) is an Irish Sinn Féin politician who has been a Teachta Dála (TD) for the Longford–Westmeath constituency since the 2020 general election. She was elected on the first count and is the first Sinn Féin TD to serve the constituency since Ruairí Ó Brádaigh in 1957.
