Soproni VSE
Soproni VSE is a Hungarian football club based in Sopron, Győr-Moson-Sopron, Hungary, that competes in the Megyei Bajnokság I, the fourth tier of Hungarian football. The club's colours are purple and white. They won the Nemzeti Bajnokság II two times in 1945 and 1946, but they have never played in the first league. In 2011, the club won the championship in the third league, so in the 2011–12 season they were promoted to the Nemzeti Bajnokság II. Sopron
Sopron (; , ) is a city in Hungary on the Austrian border, near Lake Neusiedl/Lake Fertő. History Ancient times-13th century In the Iron Age a hilltop settlement with a burial ground existed in the neighbourhood of Sopron-Várhely. When the area that is today Western Hungary was a province of the Roman Empire, a city called ''Scarbantia'' stood here. The site of its forum is now the main square of Sopron. During the Migration Period, Scarbantia was believed to be deserted. When Hungarians arrived in the area, the city was in ruins. From the 9th to the 11th centuries, Hungarians strengthened the old Roman city walls and built a castle. The city was named in Hungarian after a castle steward named ''Suprun''. Purple

Nemzeti Bajnokság II
The NB II, currently known as the Merkantil Bank Liga for sponsorship reasons, is the second tier of Hungarian football. At the end of the 2004–05 season, the tournament format was changed from one division of 14 teams to two divisions: ''Keleti'' (Eastern) and ''Nyugati'' (Western), each with 16 teams, though now it's just one league table with 16 teams as of the 2024–25 season. The champion and the runner-up will ascend to the first division while the two lowest teams in NB II are relegated to NB III. Format On 2 March 2017, the Hungarian Football Federation announced that the number of the teams in the Nemzeti Bajnokság II will not be reduced to 12. FC Sopron
FC Sopron is a Hungarian football club from the town of Sopron, near the Austrian border. It was founded in 1921 as ''Soproni Postás''. The club's home stadium is Stadion Városi with a capacity of 5,300. History With the beginning of the season 2007/08 Lajos Détári was appointed for being the head coach. After Antonio Righi bought the club Détári was fired (without getting paid for his work) and replaced by now head coach Vincenzo Cosco. In January 2008 their license was withdrawn by the league over unpaid taxes and payments. It was agreed that they would remain in 1. Liga for 2007/08 with 0 points for the season, all points being awarded to their opponents. It finally went to bankruptcy and was dissolved in January 2008. It was replaced with newly founded Soproni VSE and climbed to NB II after winning Bakony Group of NB III in 2010–11 season.
