Sopressa (horse)
Sopressa (foaled 31 October 2014) is a Thoroughbred racehorse trained and bred in Australia. She won the Schweppes Oaks, a Group One race, and has won over six hundred thousand dollars. Career Sopressa had her first race at Geelong on 3 September 2017, coming third and winning $3200. She competed in three further races in this campaign, finishing 5th, 2nd and 3rd. After a 106-day spell, she returned, contesting two further races before breaking her maiden on 7 March 2018 at Kyneton. After a short spell, Sopressa took part in her first listed race at Morphetville on 7 April. Starting as $4.20 favourite, she "didn't have much luck", finishing 7th. A fortnight later, she won the Auraria Stakes by 4 lengths. Trainer Darren Weir said, "She got a terrific ride from Harry offeyand she showed her strengths really late in the race when she was getting to the final furlong over 1800m, she was very strong." So You Think
So You Think (foaled 10 November 2006) is a New Zealand-bred Thoroughbred racehorse, now majority owned by Coolmore Stud of Ireland. So You Think came to prominence through winning the 2009 and 2010 Cox Plates, Australia's premier weight for age race. His first Cox Plate win was at only his fifth career start. His second Cox Plate win came at just his tenth career start. He started as favourite for the 2010 Melbourne Cup but finished third, in his first race past 2,040 metres. So You Think was inducted into the Australian Racing Hall of Fame in 2019. Background He was bred by M J Moran & Piper Farm Ltd and foaled at the Windsor Park Stud in Cambridge, New Zealand. High Chaparral (1 March 1999 – 21 December 2014) was an Irish Thoroughbred racehorse and sire. In a career that lasted from September 2001 to October 2003, he ran 13 times and won 10 races. His win in the Racing Post Trophy made him one of the highest-rated two-year-olds of 2001. In 2002, he defeated Hawk Wing in the Derby and won the Breeders' Cup Turf. At four, he defeated Falbrav and Alamshar in the Irish Champion Stakes and won a second Breeders' Cup Turf. Background High Chaparral was a dark-coated bay horse with a white star. Group One, Group 1, Grade I or G1 is the term used for the highest level of Thoroughbred and Standardbred stakes races in many countries. The Queen's Cup, formerly King's Cup, is a horse race run in different locations across Australia from 1927 in most years until the present day. It was originally held in each of the six states of Australia in rotation each year, but has not been held in strict rotation in recent decades.
