Sophia Julieta Dominguez-Heithoff (born March 13, 2000) is an American model and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss Teen USA 2017. She is the second entrant from Missouri to win the title after Marissa Whitley won Miss Teen USA 2001. Life and career Early life and education Dominguez-Heithoff was born in Kansas City, Missouri to a military family, with her mother serving in the United States Air Force. On her maternal side she is of German descent, while on her paternal side she is Mexican. She graduated from Park Hill South High School a year early in 2017, and attended the University of Kansas, where she studied political science and international studies and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa (ΦΒΚ) honor society. She is now a law student at the University of Southern California Gould School of Law. She is a member of Pi Beta Phi (ΠΒΦ) sorority. Miss Missouri Teen USA
The Miss Missouri Teen USA competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state of Missouri in the Miss Teen USA pageant. It is directed by Vanbros and Associates, based in Lenexa, Kansas. In 1993, Missouri joined the Vanbros group of state pageants for the Miss USA and Teen USA system. Missouri is in the top 10 most successful states at Miss Teen USA in terms of number and value of placements. Six Missouri teens have gone on to compete at Miss USA, although only four as Miss Missouri USA. The other two represented Kansas, another Vanbros state. Two notable Miss Missouri Teen USAs (who both later won the title Miss Missouri USA) are Larissa Meek and Melana Scantlin, who appeared on the reality TV show ''Average Joe''. The Missouri House of Representatives is the lower chamber of the Missouri General Assembly. It has 163 members, representing districts with an average size of 37,000 residents. House members are elected for two-year terms during general elections held in even-numbered years. Missouri's house is the fourth largest in the United States even as the state ranks 18th in population. She is the second entrant from Kansas to win the title after Keylee Sue Sanders won Miss Teen USA 1995. Miss Teen USA
Miss Teen USA is a beauty pageant formerly run, since 1983, by the Miss Universe Organization for girls aged 14–19. Unlike its sister pageants Miss Universe, which currently broadcasts on Fox and Miss USA, this pageant is webcast on the Miss Teen USA website and simulcast on mobile devices and video game consoles. Miss Teen USA 2007, the 25th Miss Teen USA pageant, was held on August 24, 2007 in Pasadena, California. At the conclusion of the final night of the competition Hilary Cruz of Colorado was crowned Miss Teen USA 2007 by outgoing titleholder Katie Blair of Montana. The event was hosted by Mario Lopez, who also hosted Miss Teen USA 1998 and Miss Teen USA 2003. In 2007 he also hosted the Miss America and Miss Universe pageants. Miss Teen USA 1993, the 11th Miss Teen USA pageant, was televised live from the Mississippi Gulf Coast Coliseum in Biloxi, Mississippi on 10 August 1993. At the conclusion of the final competition, Charlotte Lopez of Vermont was crowned by outgoing titleholder Jamie Solinger of Iowa.
