''Soothradharan'' () is a 2001 Indian Malayalam-language film written and directed by A. K. Lohithadas. The film stars Dileep and Meera Jasmine, while Bindu Panicker, Kalabhavan Mani and Cochin Haneefa play other important roles. Music of the movie was done by Raveendran master. This was the debut film of actress ''Meera Jasmine.'' Bindu Panicker and Haneefa won Second Best Actress and Second Best Actor Awards at the Kerala State Film Awards of India. Brindavani Sarang or Brindabani Sarang, also known as raga Sarang, is a Hindustani classical raga. It is also called Vridavani Sarang. This raga falls under the category of Sarang ragas. Theory Brindabani Sarang is a Kafi thaat raga. It was created by Swami Haridas. The associated mythology being that he brought Lord Krishna to earth by singing this raga who took the form of an idol which can still be seen in Mathura. Desh or Des is a Hindustani classical music raga which belongs to the Khamaj thaat. This raga is very similar to raga Khamaj. Technical description The raga is of audava-sampurna nature, i.e., in its arohana (ascent) only five notes are used, whereas the avarohana (descent) uses all the seven notes. Shuddha Ni is used in the arohana, while Komal Ni (represented as ni below) is used in avarohana.
