Soorma Hockey Club
Soorma Hockey Club is a professional field hockey franchise team based in Punjab and Haryana that competes in the Hockey India League. It is owned by JSW Sports. At the 2024–25 edition, the women's team was the runners-up while the men's was third. Jeroen Baart is the head coach and Sardar Singh is the mentor of the men's team. Jude Menezes is the head coach and Rani Rampal is the mentor of the women's team. Ownership The Soorma Hockey Club is owned by JSW Sports of JSW Group. Parth Jindal is the managing director of the company. They also own other sports franchises such as the Pro Kabaddi League team Haryana Steelers, the Indian Super League team Bengaluru FC, the Indian Premier League team Delhi Capitals, the SA20 team Pretoria Capitals, and the International League team Dubai Capitals. Hockey India League is a professional field hockey league in India. It is organized by Hockey India, the governing body for the sport in India. It is considered one of the major sports leagues of the country. It was founded in 2013 as a part of Hockey India's attempt to develop an International Hockey Federation sanctioned league after the un-sanctioned World Series Hockey, began in 2012. The first season took place in 2013. It proved to be a financial success for Hockey India, who were in financial disarray before the league began. In 2015, it was reported that the federation earned a profit from multiple revenues. The Indian Super League (ISL) is a professional association football league in India and the highest level of the Indian football league system. Administered by the All India Football Federation (AIFF) and its commercial partner Football Sports Development Limited (FSDL), the league is currently contested by 14 clubs. Nicolás Della Torre
Nicolás Enrique Della Torre (born 1 March 1990) is an Argentine field hockey player who plays as a midfielder or forward for Belgian Hockey League club Dragons and the Argentina national team. Club career Della Torre played in Argentina for Ciudad de Buenos Aires. When he became the top scorer of the Argentinian league in 2017, he transferred to the Netherlands to play for Den Bosch. Due to problems with getting an Italian passport to be eligible to play in the Netherlands, he could not play for Den Bosch in the first half of the 2017–18 season. He played in Malaysia Hockey League for Terengganu during the 2017 Dutch winter break. In April 2019, he agreed to play for Leuven from the 2019–20 season onwards. In his final season for Den Bosch he scored 13 goals which made him the seventh highest top scorer of the season. After one season he left Leuven for Dragons.
