Sonia Ursu-Kim
Sonia Ursu-Kim ( ko, 김소니아; born 24 July 1993 in Suceava, Romania) is a Romanian–South Korean professional basketball player. She plays as a shooting guard for the Romanian women's national basketball team and for Ślęza Wrocław in the Basket Liga Kobiet, in Poland. Early years Ursu was born to a South Korean engineer father who was working at a shipyard in Romania and to a Romanian mother. She spent the first years of her life in South Korea before returning to Romania when she started school in Suceava. In fourth grade, she moved to the capital Bucharest, where her mother opened a Korean restaurant. During this epoch, Ursu took piano lessons and practiced swimming. Later, she became interested in fashion and basketball. She can also speak fluently Korean. Basket Liga Kobiet (BLK), currently known for sponsorship reasons as Energa Basket Liga Kobiet (EBLK; 2001–2013 Polska Liga Koszykówki Kobiet, PLKK) is a professional women's club basketball league in Poland. It constitutes the first and highest-tier level of the Polish league pyramid. The winning team of the final round are crowned the Polish Champions of that season. The 2020 Summer Olympics women's 3x3 basketball tournament in Tokyo, began on 24 and ended on 28 July 2021. All games were played at the Aomi Urban Sports Park. It was originally scheduled to be held in 2020, but on 24 March 2020, the Olympics were postponed to 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Because of this pandemic, the games were played behind closed doors. The United States won the title after defeating the Russian Olympic team in the final, while China captured the bronze medal over France. The medals for the competition were presented by Samira Asghari, Afghanistan; IOC Member, and the medalists' bouquets were presented by Ingo Weiss, Germany; FIBA Treasurer. The 2015 European Women Basketball Championship, commonly called EuroBasket Women 2015, was the 35th edition of the continental tournament in women's basketball, sanctioned by the FIBA Europe.
