Co-written by de Paul and Barry Blue, this Phil Spector-ish song with a nod to the style of the Roy Wood/ Wizzard sound, conveys the angst about parents not believing in a teenage love affair represented a change of style for de Paul, who also produced the recording. De Paul performed the song on TV shows in Spain and Germany, however, her only UK performance was for '' Top of the Pops'', but this was never shown because of industrial action at the BBC. De Paul re-recorded the song for this episode and this version was released on the BBC Transcription Services album, ''Top Of The Pops-495'', which also featured an interview conducted by Brian Matthews. History Together with " Sugar Me" it was her biggest hit in Japan. In the UK, some copies were mis-pressed with the B-side label appearing as "Ten Years After o ...

The song is about a summer holiday romance and is influenced by the style of 1960s girl groups such as the Shangri-Las. It received favourable reviews from the U.K. press, with comments such as "are tipped as the girlie trio most likely to succeed in 1975 they've got everything in their favour" Bones performed the song on British television as guests on the Granada TV programme, ''Rock On With 45'', on 16 January 1975. Miss Hit And Run
"Miss Hit and Run" is a song written by Lynsey de Paul and Barry Blue. Blue released the single in 1974 as a follow-up single to "School Love" on Bell Records in the UK, Germany, Italy and Spain and on the Barclay label in France and recorded it with a "Beach Boys" type of arrangement. Indeed, the Liverpool Echo wrote "Barry Blue could easily have a case of mistaken identity on his hands this week - for on his new release "Miss Hit And Run" he sounds more like the "Beach Boys" than they do themselves". The single sided acetate label of the single reveals that the original title was "Little Miss Hit and Run", confirming what was reported in the music press at the time. The song was Blue's fourth consecutive hit, reaching number 26 on the official UK Singles Chart in August 1974. It also reached number 9 on Capitol Radio's "Capitol Countdown" chart, number 24 on the Melody Maker singles chart and it spent three weeks on the Dutch Tipparade. In some UK regional charts based on sales ( ...

Martian Man
"Martian Man" is a song written by Lynsey de Paul that was destined to be a track on her 1976 album '' Before You Go Tonight'' (aka ''Take Your Time''), but was shelved as part of a legal dispute with former manager Don Arden. Although the dispute was solved in de Paul's favour, the album was first released in 1990, in Japan, as well as on a Best of.. CD (albeit as "My Martian Man") that was released in 1993. "Martian Man" finally appeared internationally as a track on de Paul's 2013 anthology CD, ''Into My Music: 1975-1979''. De Paul explained that the ethereal song is about former boyfriend and zany musician Roy Wood, hence the strange lyrics about a woman who falls in love with a stranded Martian. "He came to collect me at my flat and he's dyed his hair green - I thought he looked like a Martian", she said in the booklet to her ''Into My Music'' album. Ironically, it was Wood who had recommended Don Arden as her new manager when she left MAM Records. In 1996, the ex-All About E ...
