Sompong Amornwiwat
Sompong Amornvivat ( th, สมพงษ์ อมรวิวัฒน์; born 3 July 1941) is a Thai politician for the Pheu Thai Party. Early life and education Sompong Amornvivat was born on 3 July 1941. He is the younger brother of Police General Sawat Amornvivat, a former Chief of Police. He graduated from primary and secondary education at Amnuay Silpa School and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Curry College in the United States and holds a master's degree in political science (politics and government) from Chiang Mai University. Political careers On 2 December 2008, the Constitutional Court of Thailand passed a resolution to dissolve the People's Power Party and cut the political rights of the party executive committee for 5 years each. Curry College
Curry College is a private college in Milton, Massachusetts. It was founded as the School of Elocution and Expression by Anna Baright in 1879. In 1885, it was taken over and renamed by Samuel Silas Curry. History Curry College was founded in 1879 on Boston's Beacon Street near the State House by Anna Baright as the School of Elocution and Expression. Baright graduated from the Boston University School of Oratory in 1877 and was described by one of her professors as "the greatest woman reader in the country." The People's Power Party (PPP; th, พรรคพลังประชาชน, , ) is a defunct Thai political party. The party leader was Somchai Wongsawat, the Party Secretary General was Surapong Suebwonglee, and the Party Spokesperson was Kuthep Saikrajarng. Most MPs of the party originally hailed from the Thai Rak Thai Party and thus the party was its de facto reincarnation with former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra as its "leader." The PPP had a populist platform and was strong in the North, Central, and Northeastern regions of Thailand. The Thai Rak Thai Party (TRT; th, พรรคไทยรักไทย, , ; "Thais Love Thais Party") was a Thai political party founded in 1998. Chuan Leekpai ( th, ชวน หลีกภัย, , ; ; born 28 July 1938) is a Thai politician who is the current President of the National Assembly of Thailand as well as the incumbent Speaker of the Thai House of Representatives. Previously he served as the Thai prime minister from 20 September 1992 to 19 May 1995 and again from 9 November 1997 to 9 February 2001. As the leader of the Democrat Party, Chuan was elected in 1992 after the abortive coup by General Suchinda Kraprayoon, thus becoming Thailand's first prime minister to come to power without either aristocratic or military backing.
