This list shows the songs which have been number one on the official chart list (VG-lista) in Norway. The single list started in 1958, and the albums list in 1967. The show is broadcast every Wednesday by NRK P3, one of Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation's three nationwide analogue radio channels. This page shows all the number-ones from 1995 to 2019. VG-lista
VG-lista is the primary Norwegian record chart, charting albums and singles from Norwegian and international artists. It is presented weekly in the newspaper ''Verdens Gang, VG''. The data is collected by Nielsen SoundScan, Nielsen Soundscan International and based on the sales in approximately 100 shops in Norway. The singles chart started as a top 10 chart in week 42 of 1958 and was expanded to a top 20 chart in week 5 of 1995, the same time as the albums chart, which started as a top 20 chart in week 1 of 1967, was expanded to a top 40 chart. It expanded even further into a top 100 chart in week 14 of 2025. Think Twice (Celine Dion Song)
"Think Twice" is a song by Canadian singer Celine Dion, released by Columbia and Epic Records as the third single from her third English-language album, '' The Colour of My Love'' (1993) in 1994. It was written by Andy Hill and Peter Sinfield, and produced by Christopher Neil and Aldo Nova. In this rock-influenced song with a guitar solo, the protagonist is telling her lover to "think twice" before leaving her. The song became one of Dion's most successful hits in Europe and Australia, topping multiple charts, including those of Flemish Belgium, Ireland, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, and the United Kingdom. Remaining at the top of the UK Singles Chart for seven weeks, it eventually became the fourth single by a female artist to sell in excess of one million copies in the UK. Coolio
Artis Leon Ivey Jr. (August 1, 1963 – September 28, 2022), known by his stage name Coolio, was an American rapper. He was best known for his single "Gangsta's Paradise" (1995), which won a Grammy Award, and was credited for changing the course of hip-hop by bringing it to a wider audience. Other singles included "Fantastic Voyage (Coolio song), Fantastic Voyage" (1994), "1, 2, 3, 4 (Sumpin' New)" (1996), and "C U When U Get There" (1997). "A Kind of Christmas Card" is the debut solo single by Norwegian singer Morten Harket from a-ha, released in August 1995 by Warner Bros. as the first single from his second album, '' Wild Seed'' (1995). The song was written by Håvard Rem and Harket, and produced by Christopher Neil. "A Kind of Christmas Card" reached 1 in Norway, No. 9 in Iceland, and No. 53 in the United Kingdom. Morten Harket
Morten Harket (; born 14 September 1959) is a Norwegian singer who is the lead vocalist of the synth-pop band A-ha. A-ha has released 11 studio albums as of 2024, and topped the charts internationally after their breakthrough hit "Take On Me" in 1985. Harket has also released six solo albums. Before joining A-ha in 1982, Harket had appeared on the Oslo club scene as the singer for blues outfit Souldier Blue. Harket was named a Knight First Class of the Order of St. Olav by Harald V, King Harald for his services to Norwegian music and his international success. "You Suck" is a song by American alternative pop duo the Murmurs, released as the second single from their second studio album, ''Murmurs'' (1994). The song is about a New Yorker who ripped off band members Leisha Hailey and Heather Grody sometime during the 1990s. Composed by the Murmurs, the track is an acoustic punk song with lyrics about betrayal written by Hailey. "You Suck" was released in 1994 via MCA Records and charted at number 89 on the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100 chart. It also found success in Australia and Norway; in the latter country, it reached number one for a week in mid-1995. The Murmurs
The Murmurs were an American alternative pop music duo composed of singer-songwriters Leisha Hailey and Heather Grody. History The Murmurs and Gush Leisha Hailey and Heather Grody (Reid) began performing as The Murmurs in 1991 while the duo were both students of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts.
