''Sommerfuglene'' (literally, The Butterflies; English title: ''Summer of Silence'') is a Norwegian film from 1974 directed by Christian Boger. Plot A young speech therapist arrives at a lonely farm in an mysterious forest to teach a teenage girl to speak after many years of silence. He encounters a strange family, and the summer is full of emotions, confusion, and love hidden in a veil of silence and sounds. Laughter and fun resonate in tragedy. They are surrounded by summer with jealousy, suspicion, and fear, behind closed doors and windows. Occasionally there is a picnic in the forest, or a boat trip on the river, and then sudden departure when summer is over. Geraldine Chaplin
Geraldine Leigh Chaplin (born July 31, 1944) is an American actress. She is the daughter of Charlie Chaplin, the first of eight children with his fourth wife, Oona O'Neill. After beginnings in dance and modeling, she turned her attention to acting, and made her English-language acting debut (and came to prominence in what would be a Golden Globe-nominated role) in her portrayal of Tonya in David Lean's '' Doctor Zhivago'' (1965). She made her Broadway acting debut in Lillian Hellman's '' The Little Foxes'' in 1967, and played the role of ancient Egyptian Queen Nefertiti in Raúl Araiza's '' Nefertiti and Akhenaton'' (1973) alongside famous Egyptian actor Salah Zulfikar. Marit Halset
Marit Halset (May 18, 1912 – March 22, 1986) was a Norwegian actress. She performed roles in theater, radio theater, and film. Halset was engaged with the National Theater in Oslo from 1933 to 1948. She debuted as the young girl Hazel Niles in Eugene O'Neill's play ''Mourning Becomes Electra'' in the spring of 1933. There she performed together with Johanne Dybwad, August Oddvar, and Ingolf Schanche. Later, she performed significant roles as sensitive young girls, and she ended her time at the National Theater by playing Leonora in Ludvig Holberg's ''The Fidget'' in 1948. In 1948 she moved to the New Theater, where she remained until 1967. Halset also performed regularly in NRK's Radio Theater and Television Theater, in addition to having a number of film roles. Among her films, ''Kranes konditori'' and '' Broder Gabrielsen'' are the best known. Lars Nordrum
Lars Einar Nordrum (October 28, 1921 – January 25, 1973) was a Norwegian theater and film actor. He is especially remembered for acting the voice of Jennings ( no, Stompa) in a series of Norwegian radio plays in the 1950s and 1960s. Biography Nordrum debuted in 1935 at the Central Theater, and from 1938 onward was engaged with the National Theater, except for two seasons at the People's Theater. He also played roles in film and on radio. Nordrum was a gifted character artist that created unique stage characters with a strong personal pithiness. He was noted for his comic characters in works by Shakespeare and Holberg, his strong stage presence in ''The Merry Widow'', and his performances in the musical ''Fantasticks'' at Chat Noir. Tor Åge Bringsværd (born 16 November 1939 in Skien, Norway) is an author, playwright, editor and translator. He is perhaps best known for his speculative fiction. Together with long-time partner Jon Bing, he is also considered as the first Norwegian author to write science fiction literature. Bringsværd regards himself as an anarchist, which is clearly reflected in some of his works. He is also known for his distinctive style of writing, for example for his seemingly random jumps to narratives or anecdotes with no clear relationship to the main story.
