Sommaräng
"Sommaräng" ("Summer meadow") is a song written by Swedish singer and composer John Holm, that was the first single released from Marie Fredriksson's 2006 cover album ''Min bäste vän''. It was the only commercial single released off the album. It spent 13 weeks in the Swedish Singles Chart, peaking at #8 in the first week. No video was ever shot for the song. However, Marie made a guest appearance in two TV shows where "Sommaräng" was performed: 'TV-huset' (May 14, 2006) and 'Bingolotto' (June 5, 2006). ''Min bäste vän'' (''My Best Friend'') is the seventh studio album by Swedish singer-songwriter Marie Fredriksson, released on 14 June 2006 by Capitol Records in conjunction with Fredriksson's own independent record label Mary Jane/Amelia Music. It is her sixth studio album of Swedish material, following her first and only English album '' The Change'' (2004). Composition and style The album is made up of cover versions of songs which Fredriksson first heard in the 1960s and 1970s, and consists predominantly of songs written by Swedish singer-songwriters John Holm and Pugh Rogefeldt , as well as songs by Mikael Wiehe of the Hoola Bandoola Band . Fredriksson said she chose these tracks as they left an impression on her during adolescence, and helped to develop and shape her as a singer and songwriter in later life. Gun-Marie Fredriksson (; 30 May 1958 – 9 December 2019) was a Swedish singer, songwriter, pianist, and lead vocalist of pop-rock duo Roxette, which she formed in 1986 with Per Gessle. The duo achieved international success in the late 1980s and early 1990s with their albums ''Look Sharp! (Roxette album), Look Sharp!'' (1988) and ''Joyride (Roxette album), Joyride'' (1991), and had multiple hits on the Billboard Hot 100, ''Billboard'' Hot 100, including four number ones. Fredriksson had a successful career in her native country prior to forming Roxette. She was a member of punk rock, punk group Strul, a band which created their own music festival in 1979. Anders Sture Torbjörn "Pugh" Rogefeldt (, ; 2 March 1947 – 1 May 2023) was a Swedish singer, musician, guitarist and songwriter. Musical career Rogefeldt made his breakthrough in the late 1960s with albums such as ''Ja, dä ä dä'' and ''Pughish''. Unlike most other Swedish pop musicians who wanted to achieve international success, he sang in Swedish language, Swedish. One song which is commonly associated with Rogefeldt is "Små lätta moln".
