Something (concept)
Something and anything are concepts of existence in ontology, contrasting with the concept of nothing. Both are used to describe the understanding that what exists is not nothing without needing to address the existence of everything. The philosopher, David Lewis, has pointed out that these are ''necessarily'' vague terms, asserting that "ontological assertions of common sense are correct if the quantifiers—such words as "something" and "anything"—are restricted roughly to ordinary or familiar things." The idea that "something" is the opposite of "nothing" has existed at least since it was proposed by the Neoplatonist philosopher Porphyry in the 3rd century. One of the most basic questions of both science and philosophy is: why is there something rather than nothing at all? A question that follows from this is whether it is ever actually possible for there to be nothing at all, or whether there must always be something. "Something" is a song by the English rock band the Beatles from their 1969 album '' Abbey Road''. It was written by George Harrison, the band's lead guitarist. Together with his second contribution to ''Abbey Road'', " Here Comes the Sun", it is widely viewed by music historians as having marked Harrison's ascendancy as a composer to the level of the Beatles' principal songwriters, John Lennon and Paul McCartney. Two weeks after the album's release, the song was issued on a double A-side single, coupled with " Come Together", making it the first Harrison composition to become a Beatles A-side. ''Something'' is the second full-length album by American indie band Chairlift in the United States via the Columbia Records on January 24, 2012, and in the United Kingdom via Young Turks on January 23, 2012. The first album since founding member Aaron Pfenning left the band in 2010, ''Something'' features production from Dan Carey and Alan Moulder. The first single, "Amanaemonesia", was released as a 7" on August 16, 2011 via Terrible Records. In March, 2012, an interactive video for "Met Before" was released. "Something" is a song by South Korean pop duo TVXQ, also known as Tohoshinki in Japan. Serving as the lead single for their seventh Korean studio album '' Tense'' (2014), the song was written by TVXQ's long-time collaborator Yoo Young-jin, co-composed and arranged by Yoo with his brother Yoo Han-jin. ''Something for Everybody'' is the ninth studio album by American new wave band Devo. It was originally released in June 2010 (being their first studio album in two decades, since 1990's '' Smooth Noodle Maps'') on their original label Warner Bros., and was their first issued on that label since their sixth studio album '' Shout'' in 1984. Blackberry Way
"Blackberry Way" is a 1968 single by British band The Move. Written by the band's guitarist/vocalist Roy Wood and produced by Jimmy Miller, "Blackberry Way" was a bleak counterpoint to the sunny psychedelia of earlier recordings. It nevertheless became the band's most successful single, reaching number 1 on the UK Singles Chart in February 1969. The Move vocalist Carl Wayne refused to sing on the song, so Wood handled the lead vocal. Richard Tandy, who later played keyboards with Wood's next band Electric Light Orchestra (ELO), played harpsichord on "Blackberry Way". Despite the success of the single, the style of psychedelia-tinged pop sat uneasily with guitarist Trevor Burton. He left the group shortly after. The B-side, "Something", was specially written for the band by David Scott-Morgan.
