Türkiye Kömür İşletmeleri Soma Linyit Spor Kulübü, shortly TKİ Soma Linyitspor, colloquially known as Soma Linyitspor, is a Turkish football club located in Manisa. The world "linyit" means brown coal in Turkish language, which commemorates coal mining industry in city of Manisa. The club enjoyed their best performances while competing at TFF Second League, then-second tier league competition in Turkish football league system. Since 2001, the club competes at Manisa Amateur League. History The club was founded in 1984 as Ege Linyitspor and its name was altered in 1989 as Soma Linyitspor. Turkish Regional Amateur League
The Turkish Regional Amateur League () is the fifth tier of the Turkish football league system. The tier comprises a number (usually 10-13, varies by season) of groups across Turkey, each consisting of teams grouped according to the regions in which they are based. Every season, 12 teams are promoted to the TFF Third League while the bottom two teams of each group are relegated to the Super Amateur Leagues of their respective provinces. League status The league contains 153 teams which participate in 10 groups: 2 of these groups contain 14 teams, 4 of these groups contain 15 teams, 3 of these groups contain 16 teams and one group contains 17 teams. At the end of the season, 12 teams will be promoted to TFF Third League. 10 group winners get direct promotion. Lignite
Lignite (derived from Latin ''lignum'' meaning 'wood'), often referred to as brown coal, is a soft, brown, combustible sedimentary rock formed from naturally compressed peat. It has a carbon content around 25–35% and is considered the lowest rank of coal due to its relatively low heat content. The TFF 1. Lig (), currently referred to as Trendyol 1. Lig for sponsorship reasons, is the second level of the Turkish football league system. The league was founded in 2001 as the ''Turkish Second League Category A'' after the reorganization of the Second Football League, which was the second level of the Turkish league system between 1963 and 2001. Samsun 19 Mayıs Stadium (1975)
Samsun 19 Mayıs Stadium (), also known as Canik 19 Mayıs Stadium () from 2017 until its demolition in 2018, was a multi-purpose stadium in the Canik district of Samsun, northern Turkey. It was used mostly for association football, football matches and was the home ground of Samsunspor until the new Samsun 19 Mayıs Stadium was opened in 2017. The stadium had a seating capacity for 16,480 spectators. It was demolished in 2018. The stadium was named in remembrance of the landing of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, Mustafa Kemal Pasha (1881–1938) in Samsun on May 19, 1919, to start the Turkish War of Independence, national independence movement.
