Solvejg Eriksen
Solvejg Marie Wexelsen Eriksen (August 9, 1903 – August 10, 1993) was a Norwegian journalist, author, translator, and women's rights activist. Life Eriksen was born in Karlsøy, Norway, the daughter of the prominent priest, politician, and Riksmål advocate Alfred Eriksen, also known as "the Karlsøy priest" (''Karlsøypresten''), and his wife Sigrid Marie née Wexelsen. She was the niece of the painter and film director Adam Eriksen. In the 1930s, Eriksen worked as a journalist for the newspaper ''Tidens Tegn'', and after the Second World War she wrote for the newspaper ''Morgenposten''. She was also a film reviewer. She wrote and translated several books from various genres, and she authored plays for the stage and screenplays. In 1951 she directed and wrote the screenplay for the film '' Cecilia'', which involves a lesbian relationship. Karlsøy
Karlsøy ( sme, Gálssa suohkan) is an island municipality in Troms og Finnmark county, Norway. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Hansnes. Other villages include Dåfjord, Hessfjord, Karlsøya, Torsvåg, Vannvåg, and Vannareid. The municipality is made up of many islands including Ringvassøya, Reinøya, Vannøya, Karlsøya, and Rebbenesøya plus several uninhabited islands (many of which were formerly inhabited). Some of the currently uninhabited islands include Helgøya, Nordkvaløya, Grøtøya, and Nord-Fugløya. The municipality is the 103rd largest by area out of the 356 municipalities in Norway. The National Theatre in Oslo ( no, Nationaltheatret) is one of Norway's largest and most prominent venues for performance of dramatic arts. History The theatre had its first performance on 1 September 1899 but can trace its origins to Christiania Theatre, which was founded in 1829. There were three official opening performances, on subsequent days in September: first, selected pieces by Ludvig Holberg, then ''An Enemy of the People'' by Henrik Ibsen, and on the third day '' Sigurd Jorsalfar'' by Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson. Oslo Nye Teater
Oslo Nye Teater is a theater located in Oslo, Norway. The theater has its main stage in its own theater house at Rosenkrantz' gate 10. It is one of Norway's most visited theatres. Oslo Nye Teater AS is wholly owned by Oslo Municipality. History The theater opened as Det Nye Teater on February 26, 1929. Architects Gudolf Blakstad (1893–1985) and Jens Dunker (1898–1984) were engaged to design the building resulting in a concrete building in a simplified neoclassical style. In 1994–1995, a thorough upgrade of the audience area in the theater building was carried out under the direction of the architects Kristin Jarmund and Ola Helle.
