''Solidarity Breaks'' is the second solo album of the Norwegian singer, songwriter and musician Jarle Bernhoft and the first one to be credited to his new adopted name Bern/hoft. Released on Universal Music on 31 January 2011, it entered at number 2 in its first week of release, then topped VG-lista the official Norwegian Albums Chart for six consecutive weeks in July and August 2011 (charts 27/2011 to 32/2011 inclusive) and came back to occupy the top of the chart for a seventh week in September in weekly chart 35/2011. Jarle Bernhoft
Jarle Bernhoft (; Jarle Norman Bernhoft-Sjødin; born 21 June 1976), known professionally as Bernhoft (often stylized as Bern/hoft), is a Norwegian singer, musician and songwriter. His best known songs are "Streetlights", " Shout" (a Tears for Fears cover), "Choices", "C'mon Talk" and "Stay with Me". He has also been in a number of bands, notably Explicit Lyrics and Span. Career Explicit Lyrics Hailing from Nittedal, Bernhoft attended Rud Upper Secondary School in Bærum where he joined the musical scene. "Shout" is a song by English pop rock band Tears for Fears, released as the second single from their second studio album, ''Songs from the Big Chair'' (1985), on 23 November 1984. Roland Orzabal is the lead singer on the track, and he described it as "a simple song about protest". Tears for Fears are an English pop rock band formed in Bath in 1981 by Curt Smith and Roland Orzabal. Founded after the dissolution of their first band, the mod-influenced Graduate, Tears for Fears were associated with the synth-pop bands of the 1980s, and attained international chart success as part of the Second British Invasion. Stephen Fitzmaurice is an Irish mixer and producer based in London, England. David Wallumrød (born 1977) is a Norwegian pianist, known from cooperations with artists such as Knut Reiersrud, Torun Eriksen, Jarle Bernhoft, Marit Larsen, Maria Solheim, Vidar Busk, Bigbang, Maria Mena, Thomas Dybdahl and Bjørn Eidsvåg. Knut Reiersrud (born 12 February 1961) is a Norwegian blues guitarist. His work also incorporates elements of Norwegian traditional music and African music. Reiersrud has recorded and played with David Lindley, the Blind Boys Of Alabama, Rickie Lee Jones, Nina Hagen and Swedish blues musician Sven Zetterberg. He has also numerous collaborations with Middle East performers like Rim Banna and Mahsa Vahdat. He lives in Oslo. He has collaborated extensively with the Norwegian organist Iver Kleive.
