A telenovela is a type of a television serial drama or soap opera produced primarily in Latin America. The word combines ''tele'' (for "television") and ''novela'' (meaning "novel"). Humberto Zurita Moreno (, born September 2, 1954) is a Mexican actor, director and producer. Zurita, one of 10 siblings from Torreón, Coahuila, is best known as actor, director and producer of telenovelas. Acting career He made his first stage appearances in amateur performances of musicals including ''Tommy (rock opera), Tommy'' and ''Jesus Christ Superstar''. Early life Carrasco was born in Mexico City, the daughter of Honorato Carrasco, an engineer, and the opera star Ada Navarrete. Abraham Stavchansky Altschuler (1 January 1933 – 5 March 2019), known as Abraham Stavans, was a Mexican actor and theater director. He was known for his work in film, telenovelas, and other television series, including the Mexican sitcom, ''El Chavo del Ocho''. Stavans appeared in more than thirty telenovelas and forty-five plays and theater productions during his career. Biography Stavans was born Abraham Stavchansky Altschuler in 1933 in Mexico City to Jewish immigrants from the Pale of Settlement.
