Soldier Support Institute
The Soldier Support Institute (SSI) at Fort Jackson, South Carolina is a U.S. Army organization and major subordinate command of the Combined Arms Support Command and part of the Sustainment Center of Excellence (SCoE). It is also part of the Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC). Mission Train and educate soldiers and civilians in Financial Management, Human Resources Support, Music Support, Postal Operations, and Recruiting and Retention; develop complementary concepts, doctrine, organizations, and materiel to strengthen an all volunteer U.S. Army as America's force of decisive action. Fort Jackson (South Carolina)
Fort Jackson is a United States Army installation, which TRADOC operates on for Basic Combat Training (BCT), and is located within the city of Columbia, South Carolina. This installation is named for Andrew Jackson, a United States Army general and the seventh president of the United States (1829–1837) who was born in the border region of North and South Carolina. History Fort Jackson was created in 1917 at Camp Jackson as the U.S. entered World War I. At the conclusion of World War I, Camp Jackson was shut down and the Camp was abandoned 25 April 1922, pursuant to General Orders No. 33, War Department, 27 July 1921. Combined Arms Support Command
The U.S. Army Combined Arms Support Command (CASCOM), a major subordinate command of the Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), is located at Fort Lee, Virginia. Under the CASCOM command is the Sustainment Center of Excellence (SCoE). The U.S. Army Sustainment Center of Excellence (SCoE) ronounced sko or sko-eis a subordinate organization under the Combined Arms Support Command (CASCOM) at Fort Lee, Virginia. SCoE definition SCoE is way of describing CASCOM Headquarters oversight of one of several multi-branch, multi-school Centers of Excellence (CoE) within the United States Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC). TRADOC Centers of Excellence (CoEs) came about as a result of a 2005 Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) Commission recommendation. The Naval School of Music (formerly and still widely known as the U.S. Armed Forces School of Music) is a United States Navy school located at Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek–Fort Story in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The school's mission is to provide specialized musical training to musicians of the Navy and Marine Corps military bands. The school does not provide training for musicians of the Air Force or Coast Guard.
