Sol Collective is an organization based in Sacramento, California. It is community center that is reportedly dedicated to healthy lifestyles the arts, and culture. Overview Sol Collective was founded in 2005 by Estella Sanchez, a daughter of Mexican immigrants. In 2003, while working as a teacher, she founded the group. While taking her lunch break one day, she saw an empty building with a "for rent" sign. At the time she was staying with her father so she had a bit of disposable income. Capital Public Radio
CapRadio (Capital Public Radio) is the public radio service of California State University, Sacramento. It consists of two full-power stations and five repeaters, all members of National Public Radio. It is the NPR member for Sacramento and much of the surrounding area, including Stockton and Modesto. The group is headquartered on Folsom Boulevard on the Sacramento State campus. Stations KXJZ (90.9 FM) in Sacramento airs news and talk programming from NPR, as well as jazz and blues programming on weekends. La Peña Cultural Center
La Peña Cultural Center or La Peña for short, is a multicultural center in the United States. It was founded in 1975 by Latin American and Californian allies in Berkeley, California in response to the 1973 coup d'état in Chile, or '' golpe de estado''. The center was a focal point for the opposition-in-exile to dictator Augusto Pinochet during his rule, and later evolved into a nonprofit organization whose mission is to promote peace, social justice and community action through cultural arts, education and community action. Sacramento History Museum
Sacramento History Museum is the only museum devoted to Sacramento, California and California Gold Rush history. It is located at 101 I Street in Old Sacramento. Just west of the museum is the Sacramento River and both the Tower Bridge and the I Street Bridge are visible from the museum. The building itself is a replica of Sacramento's 1854 City Hall and Waterworks building, showcased in natural brick with two stories of 14-foot double doors across the front. Exhibit themes include the Gold Rush and mining, Nisenan & Maidu Indian Nations, fur trapping, agriculture, and cultural heritage.
