Sofía Hernández Salazar
Sofia Hernandez Salazar (born August 26, 1998) is a Costa Rican human rights, and environmental activist. Life Sofía is a political science student at the University of Costa Rica. She is an organizer for Fridays For Future Costa Rica, coordinator of Escazú Ahora Costa Rica and Young Leaders Costa Rica and co-founded Latinas For Climate. She attended the 2019 United Nations Climate Change Conference as part of the Costa Rican delegation. She joined Fridays For Future Costa Rica in mid-2019. In one of her first strikes in front of the Presidential House she was part of a conversation with the President of the Republic, Carlos Alvarado, and other activists about the importance of declaring a climate emergency and of giving real protagonism to youth in climate and environmental decision-making spaces. Fatou Jeng (born September 30, 1996, Banjul, The Gambia) is a Gambian Climate movement, youth climate activist. She was named among the 30 most influential young Gambians of 2019. She also made the list of Forbes Africa's 30 Under 30 as a young leader shaping Africa's futur Personal life Fatou Jeng was born on September 30, 1996 in Banjul in The Gambia. She studied at the University of the Gambia, and was the first female president of the university's student union. A woman is an adult female human. Before adulthood, a female child or adolescent is referred to as a girl. Youth is the time of life when one is young. The word, youth, can also mean the time between childhood and adulthood ( maturity), but it can also refer to one's peak, in terms of health or the period of life known as being a young adult. Youth is also defined as "the appearance, freshness, vigor, spirit, etc., characteristic of one, who is young". Its definitions of a specific age range varies, as youth is not defined chronologically as a stage that can be tied to specific age ranges; nor can its end point be linked to specific activities, such as taking unpaid work, or having sexual relations. Youth is an experience that may shape an individual's level of dependency, which can be marked in various ways according to different cultural perspectives. Mock COP26
Mock Cop26 was a two-week online conference attended by 350 youth delegates from 141 countries held in late November 2020. During the conference a treaty with 18 policies was developed. At the end of the conference the treaty was presented to the UK's High Level Climate Action Champion Nigel Topping. COP26 was due to be held in Glasgow in November 2020 but was postponed because of the COVID-19 pandemic. It was held instead in Glasgow in November 2021. Frustrated by the postponement of the COP26 UN climate crisis talks, youth climate activists set up a parallel process. The idea for Mock COP26 came from young people working on the Teach the Future campaign. According to organiser Phoebe L. Saoi O'Connor is an Irish Climate movement, youth climate activist who began the School strike for climate, Fridays for Future strike in Cork (city), Cork, Ireland in January 2019.
