Sofiya Georgieva
Sofiya Hristova Georgieva (born 20 September 1995) is a Bulgarian freestyle wrestler. She is a bronze medalist at the European Games. Career At the 2018 European U23 Wrestling Championship held in Istanbul, Turkey, she won the silver medal in the 65kg event. In 2019, she represented Bulgaria at the European Games in Minsk, Belarus and she won one of the bronze medals in the 68kg event. In March 2021, Georgieva won one of the bronze medals in the 68kg event at the Matteo Pellicone Ranking Series 2021 held in Rome, Italy. In April 2021, she was eliminated in her second match in the 65kg event at the European Wrestling Championships in Warsaw, Poland. In October 2021, she was eliminated in her first match in the 72kg event at the World Wrestling Championships held in Oslo, Norway. 2021 World Wrestling Championships
The 2021 World Wrestling Championships was the 17th edition of the World Wrestling Championships of combined events and was held from 2 to 10 October 2021 in Oslo, Norway. The event was subsequent to the 2019 World Championships due to the cancelation of the 2020 edition during the COVID-19 pandemic. 2022 Dan Kolov & Nikola Petrov Tournament
The 59th Dan Kolov & Nikola Petrov Tournament, was wrestling event held in Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria between 17 and 20 February 2022. This international tournament included competition in both men's and women's freestyle wrestling and men's Greco-Roman wrestling. This tournament was held in honor of Dan Kolov who was the first European freestyle wrestling champion from Bulgaria and European and World Champion Nikola Petroff. The 2022 World Wrestling Championships was the 17th edition of the World Wrestling Championships of combined events and was held between 10 and 18 September 2022 in Belgrade, Serbia. The UWW Bureau approved the candidature of Belgrade, Serbia as the host of the 2023 Senior World Championships. However, due to the restrictions on Russian Federation, Russia for hosting World Championships in 2021–2022, Belgrade replaced the former city of Krasnoyarsk as the World Championships host for 2022. The women's freestyle 68 kilograms is a competition featured at the 2022 World Wrestling Championships, and was held in Belgrade, Serbia on 14 and 15 September 2022. This freestyle wrestling competition consists of a single-elimination tournament, with a repechage used to determine the winner of two bronze medals. The two finalists face off for gold and silver medals.
