Sofia Lisboa
Sofia Lisboa (born 1977) is a Portuguese singer. She was born in France to Portuguese emigrants, but she come back with her family to Leiria, Portugal, in 1988, where she did secondary school. She also studied at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon. She was the backing and supporting vocalist for Silence 4 during their active years, from 1996 to 2001. She provided a sensitive counterpart to David Fonseca David Fonseca (, born on 14 June 1973, in Leiria) is a Portuguese musician, singer-songwriter and photographer. As a musician, he plays several instruments, including acoustic guitar and organ. He is recognized for his successful music career a ...'s vocals. After the band's demise, she's been involved in other musical projects. After surviving cancer, the band decided to reunite once again for a series of concerts, in 2013 and 2014, where she performed once again with them. Leiria
Leiria (; cel-x-proto, ɸlāryo) is a city and municipality in the Central Region of Portugal. It is the 2nd largest city in that same region, with a municipality population of 128,640 (as of 2021) in an area of . The University of Lisbon (UL; pt, Universidade de Lisboa, ; la, Universitas Olisiponensis) was a public university in Lisbon, Portugal. It was founded in 1911 after the fall of the Portuguese monarchy and was later integrated in the new University of Lisbon along with the former Technical University of Lisbon. Silence 4
Silence 4 were a Portuguese band, formed in 1996, who mostly sung in English. They released two albums to high critical acclaim, ''Silence Becomes It'' (1998) and ''Only Pain Is Real'' (2000). The band never officially disbanded, but went on an undetermined hiatus from 2001 to 2013, when their members decided to reunite for a brief tour after Sofia Lisboa underwent cancer treatment. Lead singer David Fonseca is currently undertaking a solo career. History Formation The band's genesis took place in 1995. After good feedback from showing some demo tapes to a music shop owner in Leiria, David Fonseca approached Sofia Lisboa with the idea of forming a band. That idea only materialized one year later, when both of them invited Rui Costa to the band — who suggested they turn off the amplifiers and play acoustic, in ''silence''. David Fonseca
David Fonseca (, born on 14 June 1973, in Leiria) is a Portuguese musician, singer-songwriter and photographer. As a musician, he plays several instruments, including acoustic guitar and organ. He is recognized for his successful music career as a member of Silence 4 and, since 2003, as a solo artist. He is also responsible for the graphic design on his album covers and the art direction on his videoclips. Between 2004 and 2006, he was also part of the Humanos tribute project. Beginnings David Fonseca studied cinema at the Lisbon Theatre and Film School (Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema) where he attained a bachelor's degree. He also attended Escola Superior de Belas Artes de Lisboa between 1992 and 1994. David began his professional life as a photographer, working for various fashion catalogues.
