Sofapaka Football Club (Sofapaka: Sote kama Familia kwa Pamoja Kuafikia Azimio – Kiswahili: ''We as a Family together to achieve a goal'') is a football club, based in Wundanyi, Taita Taveta County. They play their home games at the Wundanyi Stadium (also Known as Dawson Mwanyumba Stadium). History The club originates from the men’s fellowship of the MAOS Ministries football team founded in 2002, which took part in inter-church competitions. In 2004, Elly Kalekwa took over the team and formed Sofapaka, and eventually joined the Nationwide league. The team won the President's Cup in 2007, while still playing in the Nationwide League. The team's shirt sponsor is Betika, a sports betting company in Kenya. 2014 FKF President's Cup
The 2014 FKF President's Cup (known as the GOtv Shield for sponsorship reasons) was the 43rd season of Kenya's top domestic cup competition. It began on 26 April and ended on 15 November, with the domestic broadcasting rights for the competition held by SuperSport. Participating teams were required to pay a registration fee of KSh.30,000/= each to enter the tournament. The competition's defending champions were A.F.C. Leopards, who beat their Nairobi derby rivals Gor Mahia 1–0 in the previous final. Both teams were given byes to the third round, having reached the final the previous year. Sofapaka, the winners of the competition, received KSh.2 million/= in prize money and represented Kenya in the preliminary round of the 2015 CAF Confederation Cup. Kenyan Premier League
The Kenyan Premier League (KPL), officially known as the FKF Premier League and as the BetKing Premier League (BPL) for sponsorship reasons, is a professional league for men's association football clubs in Kenya. Standing at the top of the Kenyan football league system, the league was formed in 1963 under the Kenya Football Federation but is now controlled by the Football Kenya Federation. The Kenyan Super Cup is a Kenyan football championship contested by the winners of the Kenyan Premier League and the FKF President's Cup. Having been formed in 2009, it is the Kenyan equivalent to the FA Community Shield of England, which is competed for by the winners of the Premier League and the FA Cup. Wundanyi is a town in the Taita-Taveta County of Kenya. Other urban centres in the county include Voi, Taveta and Mwatate.
